This assignment is to give your audience an understanding of who you are. Please select one to three aspects of your identity and concentrate on relaxation and speech delivery. The speech is to be 1 to 3 minutes in length, exceeding the time limit will result in a reduction of your score by one full grade. You have to develop a brief self-introduction that tells the audience what you want them to know about you. In other words: tell who you are and what you are about. The key question for a successful and effective self-introduction speech is: how much, and what information do you want the audience to know about you?


  1. Using the following information, prepare your self-introductory speech.
  2. Narrow your main points you want to deliver. Decide what you want the audience to know.
  3. Do not read your speech.
  4. Be sure to have an introduction, body, and conclusion.

  4. Were you shaped by an unusual experience?
  5. Is there an activity that molds you?
