Using the Census Quickfacts (census.gov) look up your city and complete the following table.
You may need to google your city + census+ the year to get some of the older data. You can
also search census.gov for your city and the year. Please be entrepreneurial in getting the table
filled out. Then, go to the website for your city and complete provide information about who is
the mayor and who sits on the city council in your city. Please indicate the Race/Ethnicity of the
Mayor and City Council and their gender. Are the elections partisan or nonpartisan? Are there
term limits? When is the next election? Finally, google your city and see if there are any
Political Action Committees (PACs—which have a specific tax designation). Are any of them
active in politics? Did they endorse in the most recent election? Provide a list of orgs and links
to their websites.
