by using the data up to the year 2008 for euro zone countries excluding malta and cyprus from oecd fact book discuss the impact of the following factors in bringing about the euro crises 9 10 pages in 5 days with paper presentation 3 days

Comprehensive Learning Assessment (CLA 2):

By using the data (Up to the year 2008) for Euro zone countries (excluding Malta and Cyprus) from ‘OECD fact book’ discuss the impact of the following factors in bringing about the ‘Euro crises’:

1- Budget deficits and national debt

2- Balance of payments

3- Social expenditures

Using graphs compare the above factors for the countries in trouble, PIGS (Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece and Spain) vs. other countries in the Euro zone like Germany and France that fared well and contrast which of the above factors may have contributed to the crisis.

The fact that all these countries were using a single currency and did not have the power to devalue their own currency could be another factor you need to consider when analyzing this issue.

CLA2 Comprehensive Learning Assessment (CLA 2) Presentation

In addition to your CLA2 report, please prepare a professional PowerPoint presentation summarizing your findings for CLA2. The presentation will consist of your major findings, analysis, and recommendations in a concise presentation of 18 slides (minimum). You should use content from your CLA2 report as material for your PowerPoint presentation. In addition, you should include learning outcomes from all your major assignments. This would include PA1, CLA1, PA2, and of course, CLA2 (unless otherwise specified by your Professor). An agenda, executive summary, and references slides should also be included

for this week s microtheme after you have read campbell find examples of his ideas in the material excerpted by leeming explain fully how your specific examples from leeming illustrate the definitions and concepts you supplied from campbell use quotes 1

Readings

  • Chapter Three in Hero
  • Parts Seven and Eight in Leeming (Be sure to read the commentary at the end of each section)

Like last week, we will be using “Definition analysis.” This is a pretty straight forward model that asks that you use one text (Campbell) to supply a definition that you apply to a primary text (Leeming), and then you explain how the example meets the definition. That explanation part is key because this is where you will be doing the actually analysis (analysis is just explaining why you chose the passages you did). So, you just follow this pattern: Definition (Campbell)—Example (Leeming)—Explanation (you).

This week asks that you consider the final stage of the Hero’s journey, Return. So, your outline would look like so:

Introduction: What are you writing about? (Return). How does Campbell define it? (Use a direct quote and then explain it in your own words). Now, explain that there are subcategories to this stage (You need only to pick 2-3). So, let’s say I pick “refusal of the return” and “master of two worlds.” My thesis would be: Campbell identifies the refusal of the return and master of two worlds as being key sub-categories to the Hero’s return.

Part 1: Refusal of the Return

Definition: How does Campbell define it? (Quote). Then explain in your own words what that means.

Example: Use an example from Leeming (Quote). Be sure to explain what story the quote is coming from and provide some context for the selection.

Explanation: How does this example from Leeming illustrate Campbell’s concept?

Part 2: Master of two worlds

Definition: How does Campbell define it? (Quote). Then explain in your own words what that means.

Example: Use an example from Leeming (Quote). Be sure to explain what story the quote is coming from and provide some context for the selection.

Explanation: How does this example from Leeming illustrate Campbell’s concept?

Part 3: Summation: This is more akin to what we have been doing. Pull back and take a moment to consider how the theme and the subcategories relate to “real life”? Keep in mind that both Jung and Campbell sat that myths gain their significance when we understand how they give us road maps to maturity. So, consider that, here, based on your analysis above.

Part 4: Conclusion: You know how to do that.

erikson s psychosocial stages paper

For this assignment you will write about a personal experience you have experienced or are experiencing related to Erikson’s psychosocial stages in Chapter 7 (Identity vs. Role Confusion) or 8 (Intimacy vs. Isolation).

It is very important that you do not choose an experience that is painful or overly personal. I do not want you to explore a topic that may cause psychological distress for you. Here are some topics that would be appropriate to explore, assuming you feel comfortable doing so:

  • Education/career plans as you entered college or after a first career
  • Entering or dissolving relationships as a young adult
  • Identity (gender, sexual, cultural, religious, ethnic, etc.)

Once you have determined your topic:

  • Connect the personal experience to your chosen stage
  • Explore what you learned (or are learning) from the experience
  • Explain how has studying lifespan development helped you understand the experience

Formatting is as follows:

  • 5-8 pages (including cover page and reference page…so, 3-5 pages of actual content!)
  • Your paper must contain an introduction, thesis (what you plan to discuss/argue), and a conclusion
  • 12 point font
  • One inch margins
  • Double-spaced
  • APA formatted (use the paper template in this module, not the current event template)

3 references are required (1 can and should be the textbook, the other 2 must be peer-reviewed articles. See the library guide in this module for details on how to find these articles)

As always, 60% of your grade will be based on content (did you address prompts above?), 20% of grade will be based on organization and style, and 20% of grade will be based on APA formatting/mechanics/grammar.

Don’t forget – anything written in your paper that is someone else’s idea/work/research etc. must be cited within the paper and the reference must be included at the end of the paper on the reference page. Complete the Plagiarism Tutorial if you are not sure how to do this.

striking a balance between civil liberties amp homeland security

As we have seen this semester, civil liberties and homeland security can often appear to be two goals that are at odds with one another. Protecting the freedom and privacy of the American citizenry often limits the government’s ability to provide security to them, yet at the same time, the pursuit of maximum security can sometimes entail a curtailment of civil liberties for the citizenry.

For your final paper, address the foregoing topic and explain how the federal government has attempted to strike a balance between protecting civil liberties, while simultaneously working toward its goal of protecting the homeland.

– Choose ONE of the topics we have previously discussed this semester to focus your discussion for this paper and answer the following questions thoroughly:

1. With respect to your chosen topic, what limitations/restraints were placed on the government in order to safeguard civil liberties?

2. In what ways were the American peoples’ civil liberties limited/curtailed by the government in the pursuit of homeland security and what justified those limitations?

3. Come to a conclusion about whether you believe the government is achieving a good balance between these two interests.

– This is NOT merely an opinion essay — you MUST use caselaw, statutory law, the textbook, and other relevant sources to justify your conclusions, otherwise they will be of little value.

– You should NOT regurgitate/replicate a prior discussion board/essay. You can use some of that prior work to help, but I’m looking for new writing and analysis in this essay, grounded in a topic we’ve already addressed.

– The overall goal of this paper is to reflect on an important issue in homeland security and to explain how the government achieved a balancing of interests between civil liberties and national security.

– Because this is your final paper, I am expecting it to be the culmination of all your hard work and learning this semester. I’m expecting you to demonstrate your BEST writing, grammar, citation, and analysis. Impress me.

– You MUST cite the course textbook in support of your arguments. Online sources may help supplement your arguments, but they may not constitute your only sources of citation. You must use parenthetical citations as well as end citations in APA format.

– Your final paper should be 3-4 double-spaced pages in length. I am looking for QUALITY over QUANTITY here. Don’t waste my time with empty rhetoric — directly address the questions posed and make the most compelling arguments you can. Do not use excessive quotations to fill space.
