Part 2

You also must practice your problem-solving skills. The below tests your ability to utilize your problem-solving skills to locate the resources.

I am testing that you found the correct website. So for each, you must take a screen shot of the answer. Cutting and pasting the answer will not earn points, as it doesn’t show you located the correct website.

Answer from your textbook, Chapter 4

– Assignment 11, p.140

-Assignment 15, p. 140

– Assignment: Research the California Rules of Court that answers whether you are allowed to cite unpublished cases. Hint, it would be in the “Appellate Rules.” You were taught how to research Rules of Court earlier in the semester.

Make sure to label your answer clearly so I know when you are answering each question.

There is no minimum or maximum length for your answer. Each answer shouldn’t take more than a few sentences each. But to earn points, it must be fully and meaningfully answered. Failure to answer each sub-part of the question will not earn points for the whole question. Also, the answer should be a written grammatically correct answer.

New settings can be unsettling for teachers in much the same way they are for students. Effective classroom management begins with establishing, demonstrating and practicing set routines that will help minimize opportunities for bullying in the classroom. Routines and procedures provide guidance to students as they navigate the daily learning environment and help alleviate some of the frustrations that can arise when momentum is derailed. Having a great system of routines won’t prevent all misbehaviors, students are still imperfect humans who make choices which carry consequences and they learn best through experience. When mistakes like bullying are made, it is best not to react and punish but rather to draw in and educate. Three evidenced based strategies for improving peer relationships are:

1. Sulkowski and Simmons (2017) identified that students who have positive teacher-student relationships suffer fewer instances of and effects of peer victimization. Nothing beats establishing a positive relationship with students into which a teach can speak truth and impart wisdom. The challenge can be connecting with every single student, particularly in secondary classrooms when you might see 80-100 students for about 1 hour a day. Nonetheless, having positive interactions will draw students into personal mentorships reducing the likelihood of engaging in aggressor behaviors. I strive to know all my secondary students’ names by the 2nd day of class, greet them in the halls by name and welcome them to class as well as find out interests both in and outside of school.

2. Levine and Tamburrino (2014) identified the success of including feeling statements as part of modeling conflict resolution. I think this is a real valuable strategy, particularly when far too many students are coming from damaged family dynamics and may not have a positive model at home. We can’t expect kids to know how to do something the right way if they have never been shown how to do it. Consistently modeling conflict resolution gives students practical tools to become independent as they gain confidence and competency in expressing how certain words or behaviors make them feel. I modeled this by communicated how I feel when students talk out of turn in class, or modeling how off task behavior makes me feel and asking if there is something I can do to better support them.

3. Implementation of an anti-cyberbullying program can be effective in reducing cyberbullying (Tanrikulu, 2018). As the statistics for cyberbullying continue to climb, it is important that students again are made aware of how their actions or words make others feel. Increasing awareness on digital etiquette through implication of anti-cyberbullying programs can have an impact on improving peer relationships.

Requirement 6

Requirement 6

Jake considers using the direct write-off method to account for uncollectible accounts.  He would debit the uncollectible account expense and credit the accounts receivable account only when an account receivable is deemed uncollectible. The allowance method seems tedious because it involves first estimating uncollectible accounts in the current period and then debiting an allowance for the uncollectible accounts account. Furthermore, Jake reasons that the direct wrote-off method is better because an allowance for uncollectible accounts is only an estimate, whereas the direct-write off method is based on a known amount.

Should Jake continue using the allowance method to account for uncollectible accounts? Provide two reasons why the direct write-off method might be unacceptable, according to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Assignment 1: PowerPoint Presentation

Consider your current work environment or one that you desire to join. Through a PowerPoint® presentation, propose a team approach to achieve a long-term business goal.

Develop a slide presentation that includes the following:

  • Title slide.
  • Introduction—Be sure to introduce the reason you are proposing a team approach by identifying the long-term business goal you desire to achieve.
  • Actions for the organization level—(see DuBrin text, Table 9-1 – Attached)
  • Identify which of the seven actions are appropriately established and which need to be revised or developed.
  • Propose recommendations for policy and structure changes to better enable the successful deployment of a team approach.
  • Actions at the leader level—(see DuBrin text, Table 9-1 – Attached)
  • Using the 12 actions that leaders can take as a model, identify three strengths that seem generally consistent among leaders in the organization and three opportunities for development.
  • Propose recommendations for leader training and development to help the team approach succeed.
  • Actions at the individual level—(see DuBrin text, Quiz 9-1 & Quiz 12-3 -Attached)
  • Using the Leadership Self-Assessment Quiz 12-3, determine your personal conflict resolution style and summarize what indicates for team membership and leadership.
  • Using the Leadership Self-Assessment Quiz 9-1, determine your team player attitudes and propose recommendations for how you will improve your ability to contribute to team goals and objectives through active participation and collaboration.
  • Conclude with a call to action that seeks sponsorship and support for this initiative.

Provide Detailed Notes—The detail of what would be your verbal presentation must be represented in the notes section of each slide.

  • Demonstrate mastery of the topics.
  • Inform and persuade your audience of your choices.
  • While “Content” points may be earned through the individual slides, the use of research will be demonstrated through the notes.
  • “Analysis” points will mostly be earned through the notes of each slide.
  • Include citations, as needed, in the notes sections.
  • References—any references used may be placed in the notes section of the concluding slide as it is not necessary for the audience to see this list.

Professional presentation, clarity of slides:

  • It is important that the slides be streamlined, interesting, visually appealing, and professional.
  • The use of an appropriate template, SmartArt to graphically depict information, and use of graphics to enhance the message is important. Do not just submit a plain PowerPoint deck that is filled with words and bullet point lists.
  • The presentation must be interesting, visually appealing and memorable.
  • Slides should not be overly cluttered and should be easily viewed when presented in a large setting. Use an appropriate font and font size.
  • Slides must be grammatically correct and free of misspelled words.

The point distribution for the Assignment will be as follows:

  • 50% (75 points): Content, focus, use of research, and organization
  • 30% (45 points): Analysis and critical thinking
  • 20% (30 points): Professional presentation, clarity of slides

The Assignment will be evaluated using the Unit 3 Assignment Grading Rubric. Please ensure detailed notes for each slide. It is important that the slides be streamlined, interesting, visually appealing, and professional.
