Magma’s Future Formations

The formation of magma within the mantle and crust requires a great amount of heat. Much of this heat comes from the radioactive decay of elements such as uranium, thorium, and potassium. Due to the process of radioactive decay, the heat produced early in the Earth’s history was greater than that currently produced. The heat produced today is greater than will be produced in the future. How might the chemistry and distribution of igneous rocks change in the future? Would you expect more or fewer volcanoes? Why? Share your thoughts and theories with your classmates.

9.9.14 HOMEWORK

Identify two articles in the University Library: one in which the business problem is researched using a descriptive statistical method and another using an inferential method.

Summarize each of the data collection instruments, sampling methods, and the statistical methods.

Write a 1,050- to 1,400-word paper in which you compare and contrast each of the approaches:

  • What are the strengths and weaknesses of each sampling approach?
  • What are the specific situations in which you would choose to use each of the instruments and designs?
  • What are the strengths and weaknesses of each statistical approach?
  • How can they be used most effectively in a combined approach?
  • Which methods are more appropriate for research in your own business and functional area?

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

(For Johny) Juvenile Delinquency- Due Date: 5/10/2013 11:59:59 PM CT

Jim, from the last assignment, has decided to stay in the 21st century. He has not been able to stay out of trouble and has broken into 2 homes and stolen the following items:

•The keys to a new car

•Five hundred dollars in cash

•An expensive watch

Again, he has come to the attention of the juvenile justice system. In this court, there are 2 opposing factors.

·         The first factor depends upon a purely psychological view.

·         The second factor depends upon a purely sociological view.

These 2 factors will argue in court why he fits their reasoning of why he committed the crime.

Assignment Guidelines

Addressing the following questions in 500–750 words:

How would the psychological theory explain Jim’s behavior? Explain.

How would the sociological theory explain Jim’s behavior? Explain.

How would Jim be treated under the psychological theory? Explain.

How would he be treated under the sociological theory? Explain.

Be sure to reference all sources using APA style. (Must list websites used)

No cover page, abstract or title needed. This will be added to the last assignment.

M3-A2.Assignment 2: LASA 1: The Costs of Production

Joseph Farms, Inc. is a small firm in the agricultural industry. They have asked you to help them complete the limited data they have gathered in an effort to enable effective decision-making. Some work can be done using MS Excel but it must be copied to an MS Word file for the final submission of this assignment. To assist Joseph Farms, Inc., respond to the following:

  • Using MS Excel or a table in MS Word, complete Table-1 (Joseph Farms, Inc., Cost and Revenue Data).
    • Assume that the price is $165.
    • Assume the fixed costs are $125, at an output level of 1.
    • Assume that the data represents a firm in pure competition.
    • Show your calculations.
  • Explain the MC=MR Rule.  Describe the market structures to which this rule applies.
  • Create a chart to illustrate the data in Columns 9 and 10.
  • Describe the profit maximizing (or loss minimizing) output for this firm.  Explain why or why not there an accounting profit?
  • Explain why a firm in pure competition is considered to be a “price taker.”
