/in /by LizFor this week’s written assignment, you will complete your paper on common law defenses by examining the extent to which they may apply to death penalty cases.
Last week you began work on a paper that compares and contrasts common law defenses while also considering their application in court cases. This week, you will complete your paper by discussing whether any of the common law defenses could apply, or have been applied, to cases involving capital punishment.
Your assignment is to complete a 3-5 page paper (excluding cover and reference pages). The paper should contain a cover page, and it should follow APA guidelines, which means that you must provide in-text citations and references at the end of the paper for any source you use, including the textbook. Please note the paper may require you to use sources in addition to the textbook. The paper should be double-spaced and use 12 point font. For citation guidelines, please refer to the table in the APA Style section of the syllabus.
