Assignment Instructions
Pawsitivity is a small, nonprofit animal shelter in Spokane. Tanya, the new Executive Director, has decided to host a fundraiser dinner and auction to raise money for the shelter. She’s invited 50 local business owners. During the event, she’ll present Pawsitivity’s 2018 Annual Report, so the donors will see what the shelter is accomplishing with their support. She’ll also need a spreadsheet with all of the event information in it, so she can keep track of ticket sales and auction earnings. Finally, she will need a slideshow to provide visuals while she speaks.
Throughout the course, you’ll be helping Tanya put together a Word document, an Excel workbook, and a PowerPoint presentation for the fundraiser. She’s sent you a starting point for each. Use your skills in Microsoft Office to create three appealing, professional files for Pawsitivity to use at the event.

Reminder: Each assignment in BUED 425 requires an accompanying screenshot guide. Students must be signed into Microsoft Office when completing assignments, and student names must appear in the top-right corner of every screenshot. Files submitted without a signed-in Microsoft Office account shown will receive a zero. The best way to take a screenshot is to use the Snipping Tool. Refer here if you need a refresher on using the snipping tool and completing screenshot guides.
Also: Do not delete your project file after submitting this assignment. All of the homework in this unit will be based on a single, running Word document. At the end of the unit, you will submit the file as a completed Annual Report.
The following files are needed for this assignment:
The following files should be submitted for this assignment:
NOTE: You are submitting two files – the screenshot guide and the working file!
Read the case study and answer the following questions in detail. Response should be one comprehensive document of no less than 500 words.
1. What do you believe is the best way to handle this situation if you are Nikhil? If you are Ting?
2. This contract has been signed by both parties and is in the administer phase of the procurement process. How would you continue managing this relationship if you were Nikhil?
3. How do you share this situation with your Project Manager, Evelyn? How do you think that the Project Manager and Nicholas could have worked better as a team? Do you think teamwork was exhibited in this situation?
4. What are your next steps if you were in Nikhil’s position?
Assignment 2: Analyzing World Cultures
Media play a very large role in both the development and the perpetuation of cultural elements. You may never have watched a foreign movie or even clips evaluating other cultures. In this assignment, you will explore online videos or movies from a culture of your choice and analyze how cultural elements are presented, compared to your own culture.
Complete the following: Choose a world culture you are not familiar with. Identify two–three online videos or movies representative of this culture. These could be examples of cultural expressions such as a Bollywood movie from India or Anime videos from Japan.
Evaluate two hours of such a video. Using the readings for this module, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, research articles about your selected culture. Select a scholarly article that analyzes the same culture presented in the videos you have observed. Write a paper describing the cultural differences you have observed in the video. How are these observations supported by the research article?
Be sure to include the following: Describe the videos you have watched. Explain the main points of the videos. Examine what stood out about the culture. Compare and contrast the similarities and differences of this culture with your own. (I AM FROM HAWAII) Examine the ways of this culture. Is it one you would want to visit or live in? Would you experience culture shock if you immersed yourself in this culture? Why or why not?
Support your statements with examples and scholarly references.
Write a 2–3-page paper in Word format. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.
By the due date assigned, deliver your assignment to the Submissions Area.
Grading CriteriaMaximum PointsAnalyzed how a world culture is represented in a video or movie.36

Sometimes a reporter must pitch a story idea to a producer to help them fill out their shows.
Instructions:
1) Pick a generic topic
(can not be extremely vague “coronavirus” is too broad, “Coronavirus and the homeless” is acceptable)
2) Pitch 3 story ideas based on your chosen topic
3) Choose one of those story ideas and write an anchor introduction for it.
EXAMPLE:
1) Apple, Google to Turn Smartphones Into Coronavirus Tracking Devices
2)Story Ideas
A: This could lead to a major privacy and tracking concern
B: The data could help the government anticipate the next areas of virus breakouts and can send equipment ahead of the virus
C: Is this a temporary study during the pandemic or will this type of tracking continue after the pandemic is over?
3) Apple and Google have teamed up in an unprecedented move of cooperation to allow their phones to better interact with each other. The new code would enable the smartphones to constantly log other devices they come near, enabling what is known as “contact tracing†of the disease. Will this type of tracking only last while the coronavirus ist still a pandemic of will “Contact Tracing” continue in other forms after the pandemic is over? Ernie Pyle has the high-tech details.

After reading the article Winners and Losers: Online Reputation Management Trends, compare and contrast examples of contemporary brands and organizations and their individual brand successes and failures with regard to reputation management. What actions may have led to successful reputation management? What potential missteps have produced damaging results for brand identity?
(Edgeworth duopoly)** There are two identical firms producing a homogeneous good whose demand curve is q = 100 — p. Firms simultaneously choose prices. Each firm has a capacity constraint of K. If the firms choose the same price they share the market equally. If the prices arc unequal, pi <>j, the low-price firm, i, sells min(100 — pi, K) and the high-price firm, j, sells min[max(0,100 —pi — K), K]. (There are many possible rationing rules, depending on the distribution of consumers' preferences and on how consumers are allocated to firms. If the aggregate demand represents a group of consumers each of whom buys one unit if the price pi is less than his reservation price of r, and buys no units otherwise. and the consumer's reservation prices arc uniformly distributed on [0.1001 the above rationing rule says that the high-value consumers arc allowed to purchase at price pi before lower-value consumers are.) The cost of production is 10 per unit.
(a) Show that firm l's payoff function is
(b) Suppose 30 < k="">< 45.="" (note="" that="" these="" inequalities="" are="" strict.)="" show="" that="" this="" game="" does="" not="" have="" a="" pure-strategy="" nash="" equilibrium="" by="" proving="" the="" following="" sequence="" of="" claims:="">
(i) If (p1, p2) is a pure-strategy Nash equilibrium, then p1 = p2. (Hint: If p1 ≠ p2, then the higher-price firm has customers (Why?) and so the lower-price firm's capacity constraint is strictly binding. What happens if this firm charges a slightly higher price?)
(ii) If (p. p) is a pure-strategy Nash equilibrium, then p > 10.
(iii) If (p. p) is a pure-strategy Nash equilibrium, then p satisfies p ≤100 2K.
(iv) If (p.p) is a pure-strategy Nash equilibrium, then p = 100 — 2K. (Hint: If p < 100="" —="" 2k.="" is="" a="" deviation="" to="" a="" price="" between="" p="" and="" 100="" —="" 2k="" profitable="" for="" either="" firm?)="">
(v) Since K > 30. there exists b > 0 such that a price of 100 2K + earns a firm a higher profit than 100 – 2K when the other firm charges 100 — 2K.
Note: The Edgeworth duopoly game does satisfy the assumptions of theorem 1.3 (restrict prices to the set [0, 1001) and so has a mixed-strategy equilibrium.
