m7a2 journal entry sexual comfort zones

Processing all of the information and ideas in this course can lead to a lot of different emotions. Each week, to help with this, you’ll complete a reflective journal assignment. This assignment should focus on your personal feelings and reactions to the materials taught or covered in the textbook, reflection on previous or current experiences, and exploration of your future choices. Avoid summarizing the content of the module or making generalizations about other people. Instead, reflect on how your own experiences are related to the topics covered in the module. While you need to address the journal prompts below, you should also think about other material and ideas that have been presented and write about them as you see fit. You are not required to reflect on all of the topics covered in the module.

As this paper is an exploration of your thoughts, feelings, experiences, and values, write the paper in the first person. These papers are confidential and will not be seen by anyone other than the instructor.

Successful completion of this activity meets Module Outcomes 2.

This activity aligns with the career competency of critical thinking.

Journal Prompts (please answer both):

Assume you are in a sexually active relationship with someone you love deeply and with whom you are hoping to spend the rest of your life. One evening, your partner expresses a desire to engage in a sexual activity that you are not interested in and that you find somewhat offensive (you pick the activity). How would you react? Explain what you think would be the best way to handle this situation in your relationship.

Now imagine for a moment that you have a 14-year-old daughter and you are discussing sexual issues with her. What would you want her to know and understand about the behaviors discussed in this module? Explain your answer.

While reflecting on the materials covered in this module and exploring your personal reactions, values, and feelings, the following questions may help you to get started. You do not have to answer all of these questions.

  • What did you find interesting or exciting? Why?
  • What surprised you? Why?
  • What shocked you? Why?
  • What made you feel uncomfortable? Why?
  • What did you unlearn? (“Unlearn” implies finding out that something you previously thought true was wrong.)
  • What are you still wondering about?
  • How does this information relate to your past, present, and/or future?
  • How might this information impact your life?
  • Which of the aspects/circles of sexuality do you think has the most impact on your life?

Alternating Offers game Debby and Barack are jointly conducting a project that will pay them a…

Alternating Offers game Debby and Barack are jointly conducting a project that will pay them a total payoff of $100. Every delay in implementing the project reduces payment for completing the project. How should they divide this money between them? The two decide to implement the following procedure: Debby starts by offering a division (xD, 100 − xD), where xD is a number in [0, 100] representing the amount of money that Debby receives under the terms of this offer, while Barack receives 100 − xD. Barack may accept or reject Debby’s offer. If he rejects the offer, he may propose a counteroffer (yD, 99 − yD) where yD is a number in [0, 99] representing the amount of money that Debby receives under the terms of this offer, while Barack receives 99 − yD. Barack’s offer can only divide $99 between the two players, because the delay caused by his rejection of Debby’s offer has reduced the payment for completing the project by $1. Debby may accept or reject Barack’s offer. If she rejects the offer, she may then propose yet another counteroffer, and so on. Each additional round of offers, however, reduces the amount of money available by $1: if the two players come to an agreement on a division after the kth offer has been passed between them, then they can divide only (101 − k) dollars between them. If the two players cannot come to any agreement, after 100 rounds of alternating offers, they drop plans to conduct the project jointly, and each receives 0.

Describe this situation as an extensive-form game, and find all of its subgame perfect equilibria.

Regression

At times we can generate a regression equation to explain outcomes.  For example, an employee’s salary can often be explained by their pay grade, appraisal rating, education level, etc.  What variables might explain or predict an outcome in your department or life?  If you generated a regression equation, how would you interpret it and the residuals from it?

Guided Response:  Review several of your classmates’ posts.  Respond to at least two classmates by commenting on how this information might be used to make business decisions.
