The company was able to successfully navigate this change process by clearly explicating the corporate values and integrate those values throughout all of its properties and across all levels of work. The key was top management providing the necessary resources and support in order to implement the desired culture in the ever-expanding organization. By listening to the staff and sharing stories of how the culture was imparted through employees into customer experiences, the cultural shift was successful and enduring.

First, briefly summarize the study for the class (subjects, method, results, conclusions, etc.). Then, using the Horner et al. (2005) article, provide a detailed discussion of whether or not the study meets each element of all seven criteria given for a quality single subject research study. Use Table 1 on p. 174 of the Horner et al. (2005) article to organize your paper. Discuss one element at a time: there are seven major headings and 21 bullet points in Table 1, so your paper should have seven section headings, with each section containing the same number of paragraphs as there are bullet points for that section in Table 1.

Cultural competence is an important value in many aspects of ABA, including functional behavioral assessments. For the Unit 7 Assignment, you will evaluate and analyze a case study. The case study will provide you with information gained from a week of continuous recording. In the case study presentation you will see a specific client, but you are required to create your own hypothetical client with a specific cultural or linguistic identity, age, gender, and other relevant details. So, even though you see a girl in the case study, you can create a boy or an older person, for examples. Make sure you describe the cultural, linguistic, gender, age and other details explicitly.

For your hypothetical client, you will watch the case study provided, observe and quantify the problem behaviors, interpret the data, and create a descriptive functional behavioral assessment (see figure 24.2 for reference). Even though you have created your own client, use the data from the case study. Also, create a visual display of the data (see figure 24.1 for reference). Then, identify an appropriate target behavior and select an intervention. Be sure to discuss behaviors using observable, measurable terms. Evaluate the data in at least two peer-reviewed research studies, cite them, and use that evaluation to support your strategy. Discuss your culturally or linguistically diverse client and how his/her culture might affect the perception of his/her behavior. Last, discuss how diverse family systems affect the planning, execution, and results of interventions.
