Foreign Travel Plan and Budget

Task: Plan the Itinerary & estimate the cost of a business trip from your location to the country where you plan to expand and explain what you plan to evaluate on the 3 day exploratory trip. (Note: transit time is not included in the 3 days) Although this trip is hypothetical, I expect that you would be able to pick up your plan and successfully execute your proposed itinerary. Your travel plan must be executable as you have written

Deliverables:

1. Introduction: A brief description of the location, purpose, and the intended result of your proposed business trip.

2. Door to Door Itinerary (a table or list describing departure all transit points from Home/ Business to airport, Airline/Flight Numbers, Departure /Arrival Times, local transportation, Lodging Location, meeting location, & return trip home)

3. Itemized Budget for all trip Costs in $US and Local Currency based on where the specific currency is calculated/used (Travel to Airport, Parking, Airfare, hotel, local transportation, food, etc). Do not translate locally paid expenses in the foreigh currency. A spreadsheet, table or an Itemized list of Daily Costs is required so “Package Deals” are not acceptable. Calculate final Total Costs in $US (be sure to specify Exchange rate used).

4. Identify Travel Documentation required by US & Destination Governments.

5. Describe cultural norms for business practices, meetings negotiations and having dinner at the home of a colleague from the host country.

6. Cut and paste the rubric to the end of your paper.

Format your paper according to APA standards. A spreadsheet may be used for the budget preparation but put it in the paper, not as a separate attachment. Insert the grading rubric at the end of the paper.

Purpose of Assignment

Understanding the various phases of a product or service lifecycle is critical when addressing a market. If your product is in decline and the competitor’s product is in growth, your strategy for the product or service will be different. This exercise will enable students to demonstrate an understanding of both their product/service life cycle stage and a competitor’s product. It is designed to help students explore product mix strategies in the various phases of a product or service life cycle. This tool is critical when addressing a market penetration, market saturation or product/service decline.

Design a minimum 1,050-word New or Product Refresh Product Launch Plan in Microsoft^®Word. The product launch plan will be for two markets: U.S. and one international market. Domestic market generally means the market where the company headquarters are located. If you choose a domestic market that is not the U.S. than your other market is required to be the U.S. Compare your product/service to at least one other competitor. This can be a product/service that is used by a team member in their individual assignment. The competitor does not need to be in both markets, you can have two different competitors, one for each market.

Include the following:

• Brief SWOT (emphasizes internal market–Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats) and/or TOWS (emphasizes the external market–Threats, Opportunities, Weakness, Strength).
• A graph or chart if the team deems it necessary.

Include two of the following:

• Definition of product or service.
• Description of product or service–marketing message.
• Why the product or service needs to be introduced or refreshed (target audience).
• Address competition in each region and how the new product or refresh provides a competitive advantage. This is my section and my part has to be 275-300 word count (Just do this section only)
• Evaluate the potential growth rate. Look for information on similar products/services to determine a 3 year growth rate (Compound Annual Growth Rate-CAGR). Information may be located in the University Library.

Part 1

Read the scenario below and respond to the discussion questions. Provide detailed response to the questions that demonstrate your ability to apply ethical interventions to a crisis situation.

Scenario: Teresa is scheduled to meet with you this morning. You reflect on the progress she and her children have made as a result of the interventions that you have recommended. With each struggle, Teresa practiced using the problem solving skills that you taught her and, while she was still not able to leave public housing, she would be exited from other public assistance programs today. She reminds you of yourself and your own struggles, and you wonder if you should tell her about your own path. It seems that it would be a good idea to tell her about your story so that she can remain hopeful of continued success. When she knocks on your office door, you excitedly ask her to step in.

She begins to cry and tells you that she is not sure what to do; her family is going to be evicted from public housing and she lost her job. You sit very still, “What happened?” She tells you that she even though the police told her uncle that he had to leave the house, he did not. He has two felony drug convictions and no one with a drug felony is allowed to live in that public housing community. She starts to cry harder and hyperventilate. To help her calm down, you consider telling her your story.

Discussion questions:

1. Should you tell Teresa about how you also had to live on public assistance while recovering from a substance abuse problem? After all, you had a worse situation and managed to recover; if she hears your story, she might feel hopeful.
2. What are your next steps to help manage this crisis?
3. What referrals would most likely be added to her new intervention plan?
