Completing the Annotated Bibliography

This week you’ll complete your annotated bibliography by locating one eBook that is related to your research question and writing an APA reference and annotation for it. You’ll also take the next step in the research process by converting your research question into a thesis statement.

Before you begin, be sure to read Module 4 in your textbook, and watch the Using Ebrary to Find e-books (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. tutorial.

To get started, locate the keywords that you developed in week three. You will use these keywords to help you find an eBook that is related to your research question. For this assignment, you will use the Ashford Library’s Findit@AU databases. Be sure to choose the “eBooks” tab before you search.

After you have your eBook, you are ready to create the APA references and annotations for your sources in the Completing the Annotated Bibliography template.View in a new window When writing your APA references for your sources, you can refer to the Ashford Writing Center’s Common APA Reference and Citation Models (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. for guidance.

Copy and paste the references and annotations for your two scholarly journal articles from week three and your two websites from week four into your paper. Check your instructor’s feedback on previous assignments to see if there any corrections that you need to make. If you are not sure how to see your instructor’s feedback, this HelpNow! video (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. will show you. Be sure to make any changes or corrections that your instructor has indicated.

Now, you are ready to convert your research question into a thesis statement. Watch the Ashford Writing Center’s Thesis Statement Tutorial (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.. Then, use the “Turning Your Research Question into a Thesis Statement” worksheet to help you create your thesis statement. Operations-Management-1

Saudi Aramco is a national petroleum and natural gas company, and is based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Aramco must be concerned with many of the supply chain issues mentioned in Chapter One of your text. Each of the issues could have an impact on Aramco’s operations, causing inventory issues, late deliveries, or quality concerns.

Examine Aramco’s business Model. Pick one of the following issues, and describe how Aramco is specifically impacted, and how the company may overcome the issue:

1. The need to improve operations

2. Increasing levels of outsourcing

3. Increasing transportation costs

4. Competitive pressures

5. Increasing globalization

6. Increasing importance of e-business

7. The complexity of supply chain

8. The need to manage inventories

Each of the issues listed in your discussion prompt could have an impact on Aramco’s operations, causing inventory issues, late deliveries, or quality concerns, and negatively impacting productivity. Productivity can be defined as the ratio of what is produced to what is required to produce it. Usually this ratio is in the form of an average, expressing the total output of some category of goods divided by the total input of, say, labor or raw materials (Ravi, 2015). We will learn more about productivity through the term, but consider how the list impacts Aramco’s productivity.

  • Application Length– your application should be no more than one page in length. There is no need to create a cover page. There is also no need to include a long header with your name, my name, and the class. That takes up unnecessary space on the page. In the header of the document you can place your name and application number and that should be fine.
  • Application submission– all applications are submitted to me via blackboard by 5 p.m. on the Friday of the week they are assigned
  • Application Lateness– Any applications turned in after 5 pm will loose 25% off their grade. Exceptions to that are one a case by case basis.
  • Grammar and punctuation– Submitted a response that is one paragraph in length will result in you loosing 20% off your grade. Proper grammar and punctuation is expected in your responses.
