I am an extremely busy right now and do not have time for easy little point assignments like this one.

no need for outside sources, all of the information given in the photos this is super simple. I wrote what side I’m on, on my prompt paper.

my view/response/direction for the short essay:

songs like this should be protected as free speech and artistic freedom. i’m totally pro writing and singing and doing whatever the hell people wanna do, thats the whole point of our rights and amendments, this is america, not north korea. people are so damn sensitive, dont listen if you dont like it and dont blame others opinions for the actions of others.

choose-one-of-two-films-and-write-about-it-the-two-films-are-Vertigo-and-Adams-rib

the two films are Vertigo and Adams rib

Description

choose one of these films and write about it. Your review should present evaluative or interpretive claims about the film, not plot summary. You are not required to make any interpretive claims, but if your review leads you in that direction, that’s great. Evaluative claims need to be backed up by evidence in the form of examples from the film.

A film contains many components about which you may write—not all of which need be included in this one short paper. The acting, the cinematography, the mise en scène, the soundtrack, the editing, the lighting: all of these are elements you might discuss in your evaluation. Another element that provides possibilities is the plot, but here you must be careful not to veer into plot summary. Don’t just describe what happened, evaluate it.

Format

All of your papers must be typed and double-spaced. They should have a title and an opening paragraph that introduces the evaluation and the film in general before getting specific.

Grading

When I grade your papers, I will be focusing on the following elements:

  • Whether or not you make evaluative and/or interpretive claims
  • How sophisticated those claims are
  • Evidence used to support the claims
  • Grammar and mechanics

Loans

Congratulations! You are a proud owner of an engraving business. However, you are using an aging rotary engraver to engrave plaques and trophies. The machine has been reliable, but does require regular maintenance and periodic replacement of parts. You have just found out that this engraver will no longer be supported by the manufacturer. This means that service and parts will be hard to get in the future and if it breaks it could take up to three weeks to get a new one up and running. You keep this machine running almost 8 hours a day, every day. Every day that the engraver is down will cost around $975 in lost income.

If you have to buy a new engraver, it would cost around $25,000.

You can get a one-year loan at 12% to buy a new engraver, but you worry that this is a lot of money to spend, especially since the old engraver is still working fine. You have to make a decision.

In this discussion, pose you argument on whether you should purchase a new engraver now or wait until the old engraver breaks before ordering a new engraver?

To help you construct your argument answer the following steps:

  1. The local bank will loan you $25,000 for 1 year at an interest rate of 12% with only one payment due at the end of the year. If you borrow the full $25,000 for the new engraver, what will the total cost of the loan be?
  2. Calculate the total amount of revenue (gross profit) that will be lost if the engraver breaks and is down for 18 business days.
  3. If the engraving business makes $975 per day in revenue and generates a net profit of 25%, how much profit is generated per day?
  4. Given a 25% profit margin and $975 per day in revenue, how many days would it take for the new engraver to earn back the total cost of purchase, if the entire net profit were allocated to pay for the unit?
  5. What other factors should you consider in order to make a good business decision?

HR-Mission-Statement-

HR Mission Statement

By now, from your textbook readings and lesson, you should have a firm grasp on the different types of human resource values and strategies that are commonplace in the workforce. From this information (this is a two-part assignment):

Part One:

A. Create and briefly describe a fictional large company of your choice. This is your company and it should preferably be in your current or desired future industry. This company and the HR mission statement you create will be used as a foundation for future assignments in this course.

B. Compare and contrast the three Sample Mission Statements below. Evaluate them for overall effectiveness addressing what is strong, weak, effective, or ineffective and state your reasons.

Sample 1: Human Resources Mission Statement

Our mission is to treat each person as a valued customer while contributing positively to the bottom line of [Company Name] through comprehensive programming that displays a thorough understanding of all aspects of the human resources profession, including proactive involvement in areas of legal compliance and service that displays an enthusiastic interest in the lives of others. We will continually develop our own repertoire of skills and maintain a balance between our personal and professional lives.

BHR 3352, Human Resource Management 3
Sample 2: Human Resources Mission Statement

The mission of [Company Name] is dedication to the highest quality of customer service delivered with a sense of warmth, friendliness, individual pride, and company spirit. To Our Employees We are committed to provide our employees a stable work environment with equal opportunity for learning and personal growth. Creativity and innovation are encouraged for improving the effectiveness of [the company]. Above all, employees will be provided the same concern, respect, and caring attitude within the organization that they are expected to share externally with every [company] customer.

Sample 3: Human Resources Mission Statement

It is the mission of the human resources department to provide the following quality services to the employees of [Company Name]:

ï‚· recruitment of qualified individuals; ï‚· retention of valuable employees; ï‚· training, development, and education to promote individual success and increase overall value to the organization; ï‚· a safe and healthful working environment; ï‚· inspiration and encouragement for a high level of employee morale through recognition, effective communication, and constant feedback; and ï‚· resources for administering benefits, policies, and procedures.

These services are achieved through a teamwork philosophy that is inspired through effective organizational skills, proactive efforts, and maintaining a balance between professionalism and the ability to have fun!

Part Two:

Use your analysis to write your own HR mission statement for your fictional company. Consider the following questions when evaluating and formulating your mission statement. Keep in mind that good mission statements are short, clear, concise, & brief hard-hitting comments on your mission.

ï‚· Why does your HR function exist? What do you want for your customers and how can HR provide that?

ï‚· Who are your customers and what can you do for them that will enrich their lives and contribute to their success, both present and future?

ï‚· What image of your function do you want to convey internally and externally? Customers, employees and the public will all have perceptions of your company. How will HR help create the desired picture?

ï‚· What level of service do you provide to employees and the company? Don’t be vague; define what will make your service extraordinary.

ï‚· What kind of relationships will your HR function maintain with customers? Every company function is in partnership with its customers. When you succeed, so do they.

ï‚· What underlying philosophies or values guided your responses to the previous questions? Some mission statements choose to list these separately (as core values or vision). Writing them down clarifies the “why” behind your mission.

 Does your HR function’s mission statement describe and support what your company will do and why it will do it (the company’s core values)?

There is a minimum requirement of 500 words for this assignment. The paper must be in APA format (See pages 13 – 15 in the CSU Citation Guide). Any sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations in APA format.
