1. Write your own definition of a flash mob. As you read, mark those places in the text where Wasik defines the term. What makes a flash mob? What are its essential components?

2. Find a an example of an internet meme from your own experience or by researching online. How does Wasik define meme? What Roles do memes play in our cultures today?

3. What purpose, if any, do flash mobs serve? Are they useful forms of social organization, disruptive gatherings, or nothing more than entertainment? As you read Wasik’s text, look for passages that support your position?

The article should be from a current professional source that you would read as a manager in the benefits field. It should be a source that you would feel comfortable taking forward to your employer.

Once you have located and read your article, please complete a review of the article. The article review should consist of the following items.

• Write a summary of the article (two to three paragraphs maximum). Why was the article written about the topic at the current time? This should be completed in your own words and should talk about the key points of the article. You should not repeat the article in your summary.
• How does this relate to the learning for the week in class? What laws and concepts are covered that would help you in the area of benefits? How could you further elaborate on the concepts in the article?

What If Scenario:

What if your little brother is caught shoplifting. He is sent to family court. The judge believes that he has low self-control and that he will continue to commit crime. The judge wants to sentence him to juvenile detention until he is 18.

DesignIT is a graphic arts company that, up until now, had contracted work out to temporary design services. The new space will allow them to hire two (2) full time designers and a receptionist.

1. Write an five to seven (5-7) page proposal in which you:
   1. Recommend one (1) suitable network design.
   2. Suggest one (1) network architecture.
   3. Suggest LAN and Wireless LAN (WLAN) wiring considerations.
   4. Recommend hardware options and costs.
   5. Suggest security considerations for:
      1. Firewall
      2. Antivirus software
   6. Recommend software options and costs.
   7. Outline the labor costs, equipment costs, and service costs for your suggested design in table format.
   8. Identify the single point of failure, and recommend potential mitigation strategies.
