Whether through participation in the study itself or through the implications of research findings, research may have unintended and unethical consequences. It is therefore incumbent on anyone conducting social psychological research to be familiar with both APA’s policies and those of their institution’s institutional review board regarding research with human participants.

The landlord has been in constant contact with the tenant and is able to supply the texts and notes to the tenant. However, the tenant agrees that the landlord did contact him, but the tenant claims there was not sufficient notice. The landlord is able to show months of texts and notes begging for the rent from the tenant. Imagine that you are the CEO of a successful domestic company. In the
last 6 months, many potential clients in foreign countries have
expressed a desire to conduct business with you. You know that in order
for your company to grow, you will have to expand overseas. You have
recently attended a local three (3)-day international trade exposition
and have gathered many brochures on the foreign companies interested in
doing business with your company.

After meeting with the
Executive Committee of your successful domestic company, you decide that
you will need to identify a minimum of two (2) countries for expansion
and two (2) expatriates whom you will send into the chosen countries.
The selected expatriates will learn about the countries’ cultures and
business activities there. You must prepare a report for the potential
employees who may want to take an overseas assignment, the Executive
Committee, and the Board of Directors.

Use the Internet to research possible countries for expansion. Next,
conduct research on leveraging expatriates over country nationals for
business overseas. Finally, research books that could help expatriates
in their transition to working overseas.

Write an eight to ten (8-10) page paper in which you:

  • Create a guide to leveraging expatriates. The guide should include four to six (4-6) sources that address benefits and challenges of sending expatriates to other countries.
  • Examine the major benefits that this report can provide for the organization, and suggest two (2) uses for the information contained therein. Justify your response.

    You’ve just been hired onto ABC Company as the corporate controller. ABC Company is a manufacturing firm that specializes in making cedar roofing and siding shingles. The company currently has annual sales of around $1.2 million, a 25% increase from the previous year. The company has an aggressive growth target of reaching $3 million annual sales within the next 3 years. The CEO has been trying to find additional products that can leverage the current ABC employee skillset as well as the manufacturing facilities. 

    As the controller of ABC Company, the CEO has come to you with a new opportunity that he’s been working on. The CEO would like to use the some of the shingle scrap materials to build cedar dollhouses. While this new product line would add additional raw materials and be more time-intensive to manufacture than the cedar shingles, this new product line will be able to leverage ABC’s existing manufacturing facilities as well as the current staff. Although this product line will require added expenses, it will provide additional revenue and gross profit to help reach the growth targets. The CEO is relying on you to help decide how this project can be afforded  Provide details about the estimated product costs, what is needed to break even on the project, and what level of return this product is expected to provide.

    From my perspective, I believe that spirituality is the common thread that ties all of us together. We may all come from different backgrounds, cultural and religious upbringings but through spirituality we can examine ourselves through an introspective lens. Spirituality is how we connect to ourselves and our soul in the absence of our material environment and how we search for meaning and a deeper purpose for our lives. Spirituality cannot be explored using scientific methods because it involves deeply personal, subjective experiences, and in this it differs from the over-riding ambition of science: to be objective. (Culliford, 2011, p. 1)

    According to Puchalski (2001), spirituality can be highly influential in the way patients face illness, suffering and mortality. As nurses, we should understand and incorporate spiritual care into our everyday practice. Spiritual care includes serving the patient as a whole person—the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual (Puchalski, 2001). My belief is that through spiritual care, we can provide care that interconnects all humanity. I recognize that my beliefs may be different from my patients and supporting and encouraging their spiritual practice that guides and heals them is essential for the compassionate care I provide. Working as a nurse on a behavioral health unit, I often see patients in trauma, despair, and a sense of hopelessness. Recognizing how spirituality and faith can uplift an individual can re-establish a sense of hope and provide comfort at a time when they may need it the most.
