Module 05 Course Project – Strategic Goal Controlling (management capstone course)

read attachments and make resume the same topic

As you’ve learned this week, the control process is essential to the achievement of goals. It allows a business to track their progress, make adjustments, and stay on schedule for what they’re trying to achieve. Your chosen goal from the strategic management project needs these same types of controls. This course project assignment will task you with creating a detailed control process for that goal. Think through all of the departments that might be involved in the completion of the goals and how they’ll need to be tracked. The course content from this week can be very useful in providing details on strategies and ideas for control processes. Some additional research will also prove useful. This assignment should be at least two pages in length and complete the following:

  • Identify four separate strategies that you will use to control your strategic goal.
  • For each strategy:
    • Identify which aspect or metric of the goal they’re controlling.
    • Explain the reasoning and value behind the control choice.
    • Identify the control as feed forward, concurrent, or feedback.

As an example, if my goal is to “decrease the amount of defective parts made on my assembly line by 5%”, I could control it through regular maintenance checks (feed forward), thorough employee training on the machines (feed forward), and a software system that monitors production while it’s happening and can print off detailed reports after work is completed (concurrent and feedback). You will need to go into much more detail on the structure, process, and purpose of your control methods, but this should give you a good idea of how to complete this assignment. Really think through how you’ll keep up to speed with company progress on your strategic management goal.

Recently Donald Trump declared a “public health emergency” concerning the abuse of opioids in America. This is not the first time a president has acknowledged a national drug problem but it is quite a different response than it has been in the past. Review this NPR (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.article.

For extra credit, write a commentary on the current opioid epidemic in relation to the crack cocaine epidemic of the 1980s. What are the different responses from the Presidents? What are the differences in drug use patterns? Who is affected most in each case? What is the criminal justice response? Is this a good thing or bad?

The level of writing, critique, outside research and analysis should fall somewhere between the journal entries and the final paper. I have not decided a point amount yet, but the better the paper, the more points you will earn. Good papers- with well thought out critiques and analyses backed with significant evidence- may earn enough points to alter a final grade. The paper should be at least three pages.

In the article: The Distorting Mirror of Hell, it
explains how Dante’s world exist. Everyone has a particular role,
destination and fate because he believes that nothing happens by chance.
With this thinking evil
must exist also and be handled differently so that every soul and
receive it rewards and this is why Hell exist. Hell exists to punish
those who sin and justice triumphs. It is Gods power that puts people to
hell. The
article explains to us how humans are the only beings that are capable
of salvation and are able to understand the language of that saints in
paradise. At the same time this means that humans must bear all
responsibility and for their sins and punishments. I believe that this
article does show the theme of good verse’s evil because it explains how
people are rewarded for doing what they are put on the Earth for and
those who act out against God’s will will be punished.

There
are several divisions and circles which are determined by the type of
sin committed. Sins are categorized according to their severity and
include, lust, murder,
fraud, taking bribe among others mainly depending on the level of
opposition from God’s will that we treat each other with the love he
extends to us as individuals. For instance, a sin punished in the Eighth
Circle of Hell, such as accepting a bribe, should
be considered worse than a sin punished in the Sixth Circle of Hell,
such as murder (Dante, White & Doré, 1948).

Three sins: Taking a bribe: Taking bribe makes someone become fraudulent and this affects care and love.
Lust: This is where a person desires someone else’s property and may steal or cheat to get what they want.
Murder: This is one of the most sinful of sins because it ends
someone’s life without God’s will and that person cannot fulfill their
purpose.

This is an article about a man by the name
of Dante. Dante considered himself a medieval Christian, and his duties
were that of a spiritual adviser. Dante traveled through the nine stages
of hell, he saw first hand the levels of
sin, and he wanted to forewarn the people of their actions and its
consequences. In this writing, Dante speaks of the good and evil between
the righteous Christian and the corrupted Christian. Dante viewed Jews
and Muslims as cultural groups who were shown
the right path to Christianity, but each rejected the lifestyle and
beliefs of a righteous Christian. Though Dante saw himself as a
Christian, he saw the Jews and Muslims as non-Christians. Dante used his
life as a Christian to generalize the lifestyle of
all Christians; regardless of cultural background or religious beliefs.
Dante’s personal bias towards the Jews and Muslims always led him to
place them beneath the religious standings of himself.

This journal article has a clearly
identified author with appropriate credentials. Jesper Hede holds a PhD
in European Studies and an MA in Italian and Medieval Studies. He has
authored articles such as: Printed in the United kingdom
Jews and Muslims in Dante’s Vision, Ranking Types of Reading:
Descriptive and Epic Readings in Dante Studies, Dante’s Exegetical
Pattern of Thoughts, Northern Time Travel in the Eighteenth Century, and
Unity and Difference in Dante’s Universal Vision, to name
a few. In Denmark, at the University of Aarhus, Hede’s doctoral
dissertation is on comparative literature and the history of rhetoric.
At the University of Copenhagen, Hede is Faculty of Humanities, and he
also serves as the head of deans.

According to The Inferno,
fraud is considered the worst sin. In the nine circles of hell, fraud
is ranked as the eighth (VIII) circle. What has been explained about the
nine circles of hell
is that the larger circles closest to the top are minor sins, and they
are in a position closest to heaven, and the smaller circles near the
bottom are major sins, and they are in a position closest to the pits of
hell. The circle of fraud has ten areas within
itself: (1) panderers and seducers, (2) flatterers, (3) simony, (4)
sorcerers, astrologers, and false profits, (5) barrators, (6)
hypocrites, (7) thieves, (8) fraudulent advisers, (9) those who promoted
social discord, and (10) falsifiers (South University
Online, 2014). Fraud is the complete opposite of God’s love; for it
involves malicious acts. Three additional sins which contrast with God’s
love are: Circle III: Gluttony, a lesser sin whereas man finds greater
pleasures in overindulging in eating, drinking,
and intoxicants, than in the love for God; Circle VII: Violence, a
greater sin whereas man becomes the taker of life and/or property, while
God is the giver of such life and property; and circle IX: Treason, a
sin whereas man has betrayed the love and trust
of those closest to him. While God has given mankind the gift of love,
man will take advantage of such a gift for his own personal gain.

Gluttony
is the third largest circle descending into the pits of hell. Gluttony
is not oftentimes viewed as a sin against God, but it is. To overindulge
in anything is a sign of
greed. Gluttony also reflects an area of importance. “Whose end is
destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their
shame, who set their minds on earthly things” (Philippians 3: 19 New
American Standard Bible). It is said, whatever a man
treasures the most becomes his god. “And he to me: Remember now your
science, which says that when a thing has more perfection, so much the
greater is its pain or pleasure” “Inferno, Canto 6.106). In the Inferno,
gluttons were blinded, they lived in filth,
and they endured a constant cold rain. This was a replica of their
wasteful lives.

Circle
VII: Violence, a sin I thought should have ranked in the ninth circle.
Violence against others, self, or property is a serious crime; far worst
than fraud or treason. God
is the giver of life, and He gave ten commandments for man to obey.
“Thou shall not kill” (Exodus 20:13 NIV). In the Inferno,
one who committed a violent act endured an
eternal life of fire storms and blood boiling rivers; rivers filled
with the blood they shed and their own. “Despondency was bursting from
their eyes; this side, then that, their hands kept fending off, at times
the flame, at times the burning soil:” (Inferno,
Canto 17.46). Each and everyday they were tortured as they tortured.

Circle
IX: Treason, the sin closest to the pits of hell. Though betraying
someone in close relationship is wrong, I believe violence and wrath are
far worst. Treason should have
ranked at circle five. To betray someone interferes with trust, in some
cases, betrayal has led to death/murder. In the event of death/murder,
this act range amongst violence. “The very tongue that first had wounded
me, sending the color up in both my cheeks,
was then to cure me with its medicine” (Inferno, Canto 31.1). In the Inferno,
treason is not considered the worst sin, but rather close to the worst
sin (fraud). Jesus
was betrayed by one of His disciples. “And Judas went to the chief
priests and the officers of the temple guards and discussed with them
how he might betray Jesus” (Luke 22: 4 New International Version). Judas
betrayed Jesus by handing Him over to His killers
to die on the cross.

Managerial Economics Assignemt – John Deere

Fin 321
For this assignment each student will select a company whose ticker symbol begins with the same letter as
their last name. You will be accessing performance data via the SEC website EDGAR. You can work in
groups of two for this project.

1. In a Word or PDF document describe the company you have been assigned including their ticker symbol,
fiscal year, major line(s) of business, history, financial projections for the future, corporate
insiders/executives, and any conglomerate, horizontal, or vertical affiliations currently existing. Make
sure to include a works cited page indicating the source of your information. Good sources include Yahoo
finance and EDGAR but you are free to use others as well. This question should be answered in no more
than 2 pages of narration.

2. Using the 10-K reports create an Excel spreadsheet (label 2 to indicate the sheet corresponds to question
2) with a column for Fiscal Years (i.e. 2015, 2014, etc.), Fiscal Year Sales, and Fiscal Year Net Income.
You will need this data to complete question 3.

3. Using the 10-Q reports create an Excel spreadsheet (label 3 to indicate the sheet corresponds to question
3) with a column for Quarters, (i.e. Q1-2015, Q2-2015, etc.), Quarter Number (40, 39, 38, etc.), Quarterly
Sales, and Quarterly Net Income. Complete a total of 40 quarters (10 years of data) with the last quarter
of 2015 representing quarter 40. Since the 10-Q reports are not released for the 4th quarter of each year
you will need to use the information from question 2 to derive 4th quarter data (e.g. if you find that for
fiscal year 2012 ABC Inc. made 1.5 million in net income and you calculate that the sum of quarters 1, 2,
& 3 net income equals 1.2 million, then it stands to reason that the 4th quarter net income must be 300K).

4. Using Excel’s scatterplot function, estimate two linear trend equations [similar to Y = α + β t], one for
Sales and one for Net Income (label 4 to indicate the sheet corresponds to question 4). Plot each time
series data (two separate graphs): X-axis = Quarters (lowest to highest); Y-Axis: Sales or Net Income;
show the trend line and regression metrics in each graph. Given the equations for sales and net income,
forecast Sales and Net Income for Q= 41 (Q1-2016).

5. Using Excel’s Data Analysis Regression function create a spreadsheet that provides the computergenerated
statistical details (i.e., ANOVA: R2, t-Stat, SS, etc.) (label 5 to indicate the sheet corresponds to
question 5). The resulting coefficients should mirror those calculated in question 4 with the scatterplot. If
they don’t then you may have reversed your dependent and independent variables so you will need to
correct this before proceeding.

6. Create a new Excel spreadsheet (label 6 to indicate the sheet corresponds to question 6) and use each
trend equation from questions 4 or 5 (should be the same) to derive the predicted values for Q = 40, 39,
38, 37….1); in a table create a column with the actual values of sales and compare to the predicted values
based on the trend equation. In another adjacent table do the same for Net Income.

7. Using both Excel’s Scatter Plot and Data Analysis Regression functions, estimate the relationship
between Net Income and Sales by using a regression:
Net Income = α + β Sales (i.e., Y=α + β X).
Forecast Net Income for the 1st quarter of 2016 based on this equation (for X41 use the sales
trend forecast you obtained in part “4” above).

8. In the Word or PDF document you started in question 1, briefly summarize your results for each question
above. As for the regression metrics, you only need to explain R-Square, coefficients, t-stats, and the 95%
confidence interval for your results. Once completed upload one excel and one Word/PDF file into the
appropriate Blackboard portal. If you are working with a partner only one of you will need to upload the
document and indicate who you are working with in the comments section.

Diverse Workforce, business & finance homework help

Imagine that you work for a company with an age diverse workforce. You have baby boomers working with millenials. Their backgrounds are different, and how they view work is different. This is causing some friction within the workforce. Before the tension escalates, you need to have a meeting to discuss the issue. Prepare a five to seven (5-7) slide PowerPoint presentation for your staff meeting that addresses this issue and proposes a solution.

Create a five to seven (5-7) slide PowerPoint presentation in which you:

  1. Propose a solution that will relieve friction in your company’s age diverse workforce.
  2. Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
    1. Format the PowerPoint presentation with headings on each slide and at least one (1) relevant graphic (photograph, graph, clip art, etc.). Ensure that the presentation is visually appealing and readable from up to 18 feet away. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
    2. Include a title slide containing the title of the assignment, your name, your professor’s name, the course title, and the date.

    Geography Question

Type a 4 full page minimum, double-spaced paper (1000 word minimum, size 12 font in Arial, Calibri, or Times New Roman) on the causes and effects of global climate change. At the top of the page, all you need is your name and title of the paper single spaced.

You must address how and why climate change happens and what the consequences of it are? How is it affecting the landscape, environment, people, and anything else. What are humans doing to combat climate change? As part of the paper, if you like, you can pick one or a few countries and use them as examples to see how they are being affected by climate change.

For the separate bibliography page, you must use at least 8 sources and list them in MLA or APA format. The bibliography page is not part of the 4 page/1000 word minimum. In order to receive a 50/50 on the paper, you should not only address all of the above listed issues, but it must also be well thought out and written with very few to no spelling and grammatical errors.

Everything you type must be in your own words and any plagiarism will automatically result in a zero. If you use any direct quotes, you must cite them appropriately as per MLA or APA standards. However, you may not use more than 2-3 short (1-2 line) quotes in your entire paper. The paper needs to be uploaded using the provided Turnitin link by 11:59 PM EST on Tuesday (6/29). If you have any problems with the link, you must email the paper to me by the due date. As usual, late papers will not be accepted.

From the 2013-2014 Undergraduate Academic Catalog —

    1. Plagiarism is the act of representing another’s ideas, words, or information as one’s own. Every student writing a paper should be aware of the following principles.

    a. All directly quoted materials must be identified as such by quotation marks. The source(s) of this material must be acknowledged.

    b. When borrowed ideas or information is not directly quoted by a student, the student should have so assimilated this material that it is indeed being expressed in his/her own words. However, just as in the case of direct quotations, the sources of such borrowed ideas or information must be acknowledged.

    2. The sources of ideas or information lying well within the realm of common knowledge (i.e., material that would be known by anyone familiar with the subject under discussion) need not be acknowledged.

    3. Students guilty of plagiarism are subject to severe penalties, ranging from failure for the assignment to failure in the course or, in extreme cases, dismissal from the University. The instructor, in consultation with the Departmental Chair and the School Dean, shall determine the appropriate sanction to be imposed. Students appealing the imposed sanction must present their appeal in writing to the Provost for a final resolution.

Some people argue that evolution is “only a theory.” Explaining how natural selection works and describing the evidence which illustrates the principles of evolution in action can be complex. Let’s simplify this process by starting with the basics: the scientific method. While the scientific method has been described in different ways – the fundamentals incorporate the same concepts and principles.

Visit this website to see how the scientific method was used with Monarch butterflies:

http://www.monarchlab.org/mitc/Resources/StudentRe… (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.

A great deal has been argued about the evidence for evolution. Over the last 150 years, data has been amassed demonstrating examples of evolution in action. Two of the most common examples are the peppered moths in London and the finches Darwin noted in the Galapagos Islands. Your task is to add to that list – do your best to find samples no one else has shared.

    THE TASK:

    1. Locate one (1) example to share with the class. (5 points)
    2. Summarize your findings, explaining how the example fits the task. (15 points)
    3. Your post should be a minimum of 100+ words – please cite any resources used. (5 points)
