The Principal’s Liability on the Contract

The Principal’s Liability on the Contract

Crash agrees to have Steve represent him in various transactions as an agent to secure him performance contracts and endorsement deals.

Super quick and simple discussion

Reflect on what you read.

The “old guy” writes:

As for grief, you’ll find it comes in waves. When the ship is first wrecked, you’re drowning, with wreckage all around you. Everything floating around you reminds you of the beauty and the magnificence of the ship that was, and is no more. And all you can do is float. You find some piece of wreckage and you hang on for a while. Maybe it’s some physical thing. Maybe it’s a happy memory or a photograph. Maybe it’s a person who is also floating. For a while all you can do is float. Stay Alive. In the beginning, the waves are 100 feet tall and crash over you without mercy. They come 10 seconds apart and don’t even give you time to catch your breath. All you can do is hang on and float. After a while, maybe weeks, maybe months, you’ll find the waves are still 100 feet tall, but they come further apart. When they come, they still crash all over you and wipe you out. But in between you can breathe, you can function. You never know what’s going to trigger the grief. It might be a song, a picture, a street intersection, the smell of a cup of coffee. It can be just about anything… and the waves comes crashing. But in between waves, there is life. Somewhere down the line, and its different for everybody, you find the waves are only 80 feet tall. Or 50 feet tall. And while they still come, they come further apart. You can see them coming. An anniversary, a birthday, or Christmas, or landing at O’Hare. You can see it coming, for the most part, and prepare yourself. And when it washes over you, you know that somehow, you will again, come out the other side. Soaking wet, sputtering, still hanging on to some tiny piece of the wreckage, but you’ll come out. Take it from an old guy. The waves never stop coming, and somehow, you don’t really want them to. But you learn that you’ll survive them. And other waves will come. And you’ll survive them too. If you’re lucky, you’ll have lots of scars from lots of loves. And lots of shipwrecks.” (Reddit, 2014)

In your initial post, please address the following questions:

  • Is this an accurate description of grief, in your experience?
  • What is an example of a “piece of wreckage” that you have or could hold onto?
  • How does reading this help someone who is grieving (if at all?)

Part B

In addition, read over the helpful tips in the module. In your initial post, please answer the following questions:

List

  • Three things you can do to help someone who is grieving
  • Answer the following question in two or more sentences: What is something on the list that I think would have actually helped me when I was grieving and why? OR, if you have not experienced any significant grief, what is something on the list that you think would actually help and why?

English 101 Final Exam Reflection
Fall 2019
Introduction
As a student in English Composition 101, you will often be asked to reflect. To reflect means to think thoughtfully about a given topic. Some instructors will ask you to reflect on your writing process for a certain essay; others will ask you to think about your experience of reading a text; still others will ask you to examine some aspect of your life. To reflect is not the same as to narrate, which means to tell a story. When you reflect, you explore and analyze a certain situation within your life. You do not explain every step in chronological order; you choose certain “pieces” or “threads” of an experience or situation and look at only these. Exploration like this often leads to connecting themes or ideas within the situation. You will not necessarily know the connections when you start to brainstorm: often, they are surprises that only come to light through careful reflection and consideration. Thoughtful reflection can help you in any aspect of your life.
The Assignment
Format:
First, the format will not be an actual essay. Instead, this composition will be in the form of a letter. It will begin with “Dear XXX,” and it should end with some kind of signoff (“Sincerely, XXX” or “Good luck, XXX” etc.).
Audience:
You will be writing this letter to yourself. Not the person you are today, but the person you were when you started English Composition 101. This might be the “you” at the beginning of this semester if English 101 is your first English class. If you started with English 100, however, you might want to write to the person you were last fall or spring or whenever you started.
Purpose:
The purpose of this letter is to give the “younger” you some good advice as s/he prepares for the first days of English Composition 101 class. You should think of yourself as a mentor, or coach, who is able to go back in time and, with the advantage of hindsight, help out your younger self as s/he starts on this journey in English.
Format:
 As always, your letter must be typed in a standard 12-point font, with one-inch margins, double-spaced, and this time it should be 1 page in length.
 MLA format is not required for this assignment because of the letter format.
Evaluation Criteria:
 Content and Thesis (40%): Although this letter does not need an explicit thesis statement, it does need to have an implicit main idea that guides/shapes the whole essay. Additionally, the content of the letter needs to be specific and discussed with concrete and vivid detail. Lastly, thoughtfulness is of supreme importance in this kind of assignment. If you simply skim the surface and list tasks, you are missing the point.
 Organization (15%): This is the overall organization (the body paragraphs should have some kind of arc, with the most important information coming just before the concluding paragraph) as well as paragraph-level organization.
 Expression (20%): This category ranges from varied sentence structure to vocabulary that is unique and precise to the correct tone. Because you are writing to yourself, your tone will be slightly different than if you were writing a formal, academic essay. However, please remember that you are writing a college assignment, so no slang or bad language.
 Mechanics & Usage (25%): This covers basic grammar, word forms, vocabulary choices, punctuation, spelling, etc.
Final Notes:
 This assignment invites you to be creative as you reflect, and requires that you be thoughtful as you advise. Even though this is a letter, you must organize it in a way that shows an awareness of the structure and progression of the letter. You also need to write body paragraphs that are unified (about one topic). Disconnected, random thoughts are not an acceptable way to write this letter. A suggestion would be to outline the letter before you begin, and think about what kind of structure will best serve you. You want to build to your most important point, so think for a while about what that might be.
 Please remember to proofread your letter.

Nietzsche drastically departs, discussion help

Please directly reply to the post below with at lease 6 sentences.

Post from Nate- Nietzsche drastically departs from all philosophers we have study to date.  He casts out rationalism and the teachings of Judeo–Christian moralities. He believes the philosophies of the Greeks and enlightened era present false moralities that continue to weaken society. He agrees with them to the extent that are two types of moralities which he terms a master morality and a slave morality. He holds that the good morality or good will or just good is that of master type and is held in esteem by the intellectual thinkers and philosophers as traits they see in themselves and how people should aspire to be. The slave morality is something that he holds for the “common herd” and related to evil or bad morality. He holds to these ideals in that he differentiates the intellectual thinker from the common person. Nietzsche subscribes to belief of the survival of the fittest, but takes that Darwinian tenet a step further. Where Darwinism says evolution adapts to overcome environmental obstacles. Nietzsche believes true morality is to overpower the environment and natural world and command it.

He sees sympathy, empathy and charity as weakness, He believes that any ethical theory that goes against survival and existence are bade moralities. He believes in the ethical theory of the will to power. Nietzsche states “I regard Christianity as the most fatal and seductive lie that has ever existed – as the greatest and most impious lie: I can discern the last sprouts and branches of its ideal beneath every form of disguise, I decline to enter into any compromise or false position in reference to it- I urge people to declare open war with it” (Pg218) I disagree with Nietzsche because people are generally stronger tighter than as individuals. It would seem to promote instability and chaos if everyone acted out self-interest and removed the weak with the strongest on constant basis. I find very interesting that he was a man of great intellect but poor health and physical strength. Depending on the society values he could be consider the weak one and replaced with the strong.

The Fall of the Firefly

At the top of the paper provide the reference to your Journal Article. Use a scholarly source as described above. Do not use a non-scholarly/non-peer-reviewed source.

1.The INTRODUCTION is your initial brief discussion of the concept identified from the chapter 13,14 & 15 (text book attached below) that you are going to examine. This is just a brief presentation of the concept.

2.The SUMMARY is the introduction of your journal article and a brief overview of the content.

3.The RELEVANT POINTS section is the most important section of this paper. This is where you compare the article to the text based upon the concept you selected. This should demonstrate how the article either supports or opposes the concept(s) as presented in the text.

4.The CRITIQUE section is where you review the article to state whether it is a better authority on the concept(s) or whether the text provides a better authority. This based upon providing a sound review of the strengths/weaknesses of the article.

5.The Application of Concept(s) section is a personal discussion of how you can implement this concept into our own work. This should be a specific example and not just a general statement.

Apply the concept(s) to your career, field, industry, etc. Provide a real world application not a general statement. This section should demonstrate how you can take the findings of this article or case study and utilize them in a practical way in your career, field or practice. Make the application specific to your own experience. Do not just provide a general overview of the usefulness of the findings. Be specific; not general.

Provide a balanced criticism of the article or case study. What were the strengths and weaknesses of the study? How do the findings support the field of project management? How could it have been altered to better support the field?

Note:

1.References (this does not count toward the required paper length)

FINALLY, you must cite your sources after every sentence which contains information from one of your sources. Just putting a citation at the end of a paragraph or section is not sufficient.

Also, do not state “The author” or “the text”. Use proper APA style. This is Last Name of Author (Year). So, the proper reference to the text would be…Kloppenborg, et al. (2019)

2. Give make 250 words seperate document about the important finding in the article and relate it with the chapter 11 and 12.In the summary and relevant points section provide proper citations with page number.

4. Research brief needs to discuss how article compares to text.
