Health Care Provider and Faith Diversity: First Draft

The practice of health care providers at all levels brings you into contact with people from a variety of faiths. This calls for knowledge and acceptance of a diversity of faith expressions.

The purpose of this paper is to complete a comparative analysis of two faith philosophies towards providing health care, one being the Christian perspective. For the second faith, choose a faith that is unfamiliar to you. Examples of faiths to choose from: Sikh, Baha’i, Buddhism, Shintoism, etc.

In a minimum of 1,500-2,000 words, provide a comparative analysis of the different belief systems, reinforcing major themes with insights gained from your research.

In your comparative analysis, address all of the worldview questions in detail for Christianity and your selected faith. Refer to chapter 2 of the Called to Care for the list of questions. Be sure to address the implications of these beliefs for health care.

In addition answer the following questions that address the practical and healthcare implications based on the research:

  1. What are critical common components to all religions/beliefs in regards to healing, such as prayer, meditation, belief, etc.? Explain.
  2. What is important to patients of the faiths when cared for by health care providers whose spiritual beliefs differ from their own?

In your conclusion, describe your own spiritual perspective on healing, what you have learned from the research and how this learning can be applied to a health care provider.

Support your position by referencing at least three academic resources (preferably from the GCU Library) in addition to the course readings, the Bible, and the textbooks for each religion. Each religion must have a primary source included. A total of six references are required according to the specifications listed above. Incorporate the research into your writing in an appropriate, scholarly manner.

Chapter 2 Questions

•What is prime reality?

•What is the nature of the world around us?

•What is a human being?

•What happens to a person at death?

•Why is it possible to know anything at all?

•How do we know what is right and wrong?

•What is the meaning of human history?**

Mental health screenings for Women (examples of screening tools and how they are used)

  • Review
this week’s media presentation, as well as Chapters 6 and 8 of the
Tharpe et al. text and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
    article in the Learning Resources.
  • Use guidelines on screening for the following topics and reflect on strengths and limitations of the screening guidelines.
  • Consider how the guidelines might support your clinical decision making.
  • Research
guidelines on screening procedures for the topic assigned to you by the
course Instructor (e.g., guidelines on screening for domestic violence,
safety, nutrition, osteoporosis, heart disease, mental health, eating
disorders, thyroid disease, pap smear, mammogram, cancer, and sexually
transmitted infections). Note: The course Instructor will assign a topic
to you by Day 1 of this week.
  • Reflect on strengths and limitations of the screening guidelines.
  • Consider how the guidelines might support your clinical decision making.

Post
an explanation of the guidelines on screening procedures for the topic
assigned to you. Include an explanation of strengths and limitations of
the guidelines. Then, explain how the guidelines might support your
clinical decision making.

Short Research. 538

This is a two part forum assignment.

Part I
Research Assignment: Conduct “non”-textbook Internet/WWW research to locate an actual Theft of Trade Secrets, Industrial Espionage or Economic Espionage case to thoroughly report to the class. Details of your selected case should ideally include (in some selected cases you may not be able to include each of the following points of information): 1. How would you classify this case? Theft of Trade Secrets, Industrial Espionage or Economic Espionage? What are the factors/specifics that cause you to classify into a certain category (ToTS, IE or EE)? 2. How was the espionage detected? 3. What entity investigated the espionage? 4. What vulnerabilities contributed to the loss of sensitive information? 5. What could have been done (countermeasures) to prevent the disclosure? 6. What was the loss &/or damage? 7. Criminal &/or civil prosecution? Is so, what were the formal/actual charges? 8. Were the results of the criminal &/or civil prosecution/litigation? 9. What lessons did you take away from this case?

Part II
Select “one” salient point from Chapters 3 or 4 of the Nasheri text to relate to the class. Succinctly state the point and thoroughly explain why you thought your chosen point was important.

Part Two Special Note: To clarify, part two is simply asking you to select and explain a “key/significant point” (aka salient point) from your reading. It is “your” choice (there is no right or wrong answer) what you consider an important point made in your reading. However, know you should first “succinctly” identify the specific point. Then explain its importance and relevance – essentially, justify your selection of the point

Supply Chains and Distribution Channels

Great news! Your concept passed initial testing and went on to more rigorous, quantitative testing. The results there were promising and you’ve decided to launch the new product! Now, you need to identify potential suppliers and distribution partners.

For this assignment, create a 5 page paper that contains the following information:

  1. In 1-2 pages, create a list of at least three potential suppliers and describe what they would do for your company (preferably using real-life suppliers, but you may use fictitious names if you can’t locate an existing company that supplies that material).
  2. In 1-2 pages, create a list of at least three potential channel partners and describe what they would do for your company (wholesalers, retailers, etc.).
  3. Using the companies listed in your supplier list, create a diagram of suppliers that traces your offering back to its raw materials.
  4. Using the companies listed in your channel partner list, create a flowchart that shows at least three potential pathways to get your product to the consumer.
  5. Include a ½-page write-up that discusses the value that each supplier and channel partner contributes to the development and distribution of your offering.

Proofread your final assignment for correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. For more information about APA, please visit the Online Library, which is available through the Resources tab.

Topic 5 DQ 2

Please respond with a paragraph to the following question, add citations and references:

What health risks associated with obesity does Mr. C. have? Is bariatric surgery an appropriate intervention? Why or why not?

Some health risks associated with obesity that Mr. C. has are diabetes, heat disease, stroke, cancer, gallbladder disease, osteoarthritis, gout, and asthma (Barger, 2017). Mr. C. already has sleep apnea, hypertension, and a new diagnosis of peptic ulcer disease. According to the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (“Benefits of Bariatric Surgery,” 2019 ), Mr. C. would qualify and be a good candidate for bariatric surgery because his body mass index (BMI) is >40. Mr. C. is 32 years old, is 5’6’, weighs 296 pounds and has a BMI of 47. Bariatric surgery is an appropriate intervention for Mr. C. as it has been show n to help improve or resolve many obesity related conditions that Mr. C. already has such s hypertension and is at risk for developing such as diabetes.

The patient reports eating meals at 7 a.m., noon, and 6 p.m., and a bedtime snack at 10 p.m. Plan an administration schedule that will be most therapeutic and acceptable to the patient.

Mr. C. should take his Sucralfate/Carafate 10 m L at 0600, 1100, 1700 , and at bedtime. He should take his Mylanta 15 mL at 1000, 1500, 2100, and at bedtime. His Zantac should be taken at bedtime.

Assess each of Mr. C.’s functional health patterns using the information given.

Health Perception / Health Management Pattern – Mr. C. is seeking information on his own about weight loss surgery. He admits to struggling with being overweight since he was a child and says he has gained 100 pounds in the past couple of years. He is trying to manage his HTN with his own dietary modifications and does not seek expert opinion for proper management.

Nutritional / Metabolic Pattern- Mr. C. weighs 296 pounds which puts him at a BMI of 47 and in the heavily overweight category. His current diagnosis are HTN, sleep apnea, and peptic ulcer disease and based upon recent abnormal lab work may also have diabetes and hyperlipidemia. He currently takes 3 medications for peptic ulcer disease. He reportedly eats 3 meals and 1 snack daily.

Elimination Pattern- Mr. C.’s elimination pattern may be altered now with the 3 new medications Mylanta, Zantac, and Sucralfate/Carafate that he has been put on. Common side effects of most medications can be constipation or diarrhea.

Activity / Exercise – Mr. C. works at a catalog telephone center and likely sits for most of the day. Being heavily obese can make daily ADL’s limited and very difficult.

Sleep / Rest – Mr. C. has sleep apnea which interferes with getting a good full night of sleep due to frequent awakening from apneic episodes.

Cognitive / Perceptual – Mr. C. is able to sustain a job and can communicate without any problems based upon his job at a telephone center. He may have sensory problems following his disease process especially if he has diabetes which can result from neuropathy. His vision and taste sensory may be affected. Side effects from some of his medication may also present with some of these problems.

Self Perception /Self Concept Pattern- Mr. C. is not comfortable or happy with being overweight. He refers to himself as always being a heavy person even as a child.

Role-Relationship Pattern- Mr. C. is a 32-year-old single man. He may be single due to not being happy with himself due to being overweight causing some low self-esteem issues.

Sexuality-Reproductive Pattern- May be affected by low libido and dysfunctional sexual patterns due to his weight and multiple medications which can affect his sexual relationships.

Coping / Stress Tolerance Pattern- Mr. C. may be using food to cope with stress which has led to his weight gain.

What actual or potential problems can you identify? Describe at least five problems and provide the rationale for each.

Mr. C. mentions he has hypertension . He likely was diagnosed sometime in the past and says was trying to control with sodium restrictions. His blood pressure reading was elevated at 172/96.

If peptic ulcer disease erodes the gastric mucosa and leads to bleeding, Mr. C. may become anemic due to loss of blood from his gastrointestinal tract.

From the laboratory results provided, Mr. C.’s fasting blood glucose was 146/mg/dL which could be potential for diabetes.

Mr. C. is at risk for heart disease due to an elevated total cholesterol of 250mg/dL and t triglycerides of 312 mg/dL . With time, too much cholesterol in the blood builds up in the walls of the arteries causing a narrowing resulting in a decrease or blocked blood flow to the heart which can lead to a heart attack.

Information Systems in Organizations, assignment help

 Information Systems in Organizations

i can only afford $6.00

Before you begin this assignment, be sure you:

1.
Have
completed all previously assigned readings, particularly those assigned in Week
1 of the class

2.  Read the “Kelly’s Salon Case Study” and review the “Walmart
Example.”

Overview of Business Environment Analysis for Kelly’s
Salon

Kelly’s
Salon has been in business since 1995 and has seen an increase in
competition from a variety of competitors, as described in the Case Study.  With the news that a Hair Cuttery is likely
to open only five miles away, Kelly, the owner of Kelly’s Salon,
is
concerned and has begun analyzing her situation and what could be done to
remain competitive in this changing environment.  She has recognized that scheduling her
employees and her customers is causing her problems, and she thinks she should
focus on that first, as it is fundamental to her business.
Kelly also believes that there must be a
technology solution that could help her run her salon, but she has no idea
where to start.

You
are a Systems Analyst, and Kelly has asked you to help her with determining how
she can improve her business.  Kelly has
requested, specifically, that you verify and provide added support to her own
analysis that has resulted in the identification of a Strategy for Competitive
Advantage and a Business Process for Improvement.  This will be the basis for defining business
and systems requirements for an IT solution. This Strategy and IT Solution will
help to bring Kelly’s Salon into the 21st century and take advantage
of current technology.  You will
analyze her business environment using Porter’s Five Forces Analysis.  Then, you will use the results of that
analysis to explain how it supports Kelly’s Strategy for Competitive Advantage,
and the business process that she selected for improvement through the use of
technology.

It is important to note that a business owner has
many areas where improvements can be made, such as:  staff, building facility, supplier
agreements, advertising, etc.  There are
also many possible solutions that could improve the business strategy and
processes.  Since time and costs are involved,
the owner should address basic problems first in choosing the strategy and
which processes to improve. (Consider a lemonade stand; while it would be nice
to have a chair to sit behind a table to serve the lemonade to customers, that
is not crucial; however, having lemonade and cups are crucial to the business.)

A second important concept for this class is that,
among all the ways that competitive advantage and processes can be improved,
the focus is on information technology solutions.  In your role as a Systems Analyst, you will
be supporting Kelly’s selected strategy and process for improvement, and
proposing an appropriate IT solution.
This work begins with an analysis of Kelly’s Salon using the Five Forces
Model.

Five Forces Analysis:

You know that Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model
is a useful tool for analyzing a business.
The Model is used to help understand the importance of the five
competitive forces and determine a strategy to develop and maintain a
competitive advantage.  The Five Forces
are described and discussed in Chapter 7 of the e-textbook. They are:

  • Buyer
    Power
  • Supplier
    power
  • Threat
    of substitute products or services
  • Threat
    of new entrants
  • Rivalry
    among existing competitors

Strategy for Competitive Advantage:

After reviewing Porter’s Generic Strategies for competitive advantage,
as shown in the table below, Kelly has decided on the Cost Leadership Strategy because she wants to provide a variety of
services at a cost that is lower than her competitors and thereby attract more
customers.  She knows that she can offer
lower costs than the Hair Cuttery that is opening nearby, but she will need to
make some improvements to do that.

Business Process:

Following a Five Forces Analysis and selection of
a strategy for competitive advantage, the next step is to identify a process
for improvement that will support the strategy and provide the most benefit,
and position the business for future improvements.  While there are several areas in need of
improvement, Kelly has decided that Customer
and Employee Scheduling
is the most important process to be improved.

In your role as Systems Analyst, Kelly wants you to provide solid
justification for the strategy for competitive advantage and the business process
that she has selected, and help her determine if an information technology
solution can help.

References:  Provide at least one external resource
in your paper on an area of your choice.

other than those provided in the class or textbook.   Incorporate a
properly formatted APA citation in the text of your document.  Then, place an APA style reference page at
the end of your document.

Formatting:

For academic
writing, the writer is expected to write in the third person. In third person,
the writer avoids the pronouns I, we, my, and ours. The third person is used to
make the writing more objective by taking the individual, the “self,” out of
the writing. This method is very helpful for academic writing, a form in which
facts, not opinion, drive the tone of the text. Writing in the third person
allows the writer to come across as unbiased and thus more informed.

·
Write a short concise paper:
 2-3 double spaced pages of content;
table entries for the Five Forces analysis should be single spaced.

·
Use at least one external
resources with APA formatted citation and reference.

·
Include a title page and
a reference page.

·
Compare your work to the Grading Rubric below to be sure you have met content
and quality criteria.

·
Submit your paper as a Word document, or a document that can be read in
Word.

·
Your submission should include your last name first  in the filename:  Lastname_firstname_Stage_1

GRADING RUBRIC:
