Preparing for the Lesson Planning Projects

READ CAREFULLY AND REVIEW THE VIDEO BELOW. The video is designed to help you pass the project on the first try.

As you begin the next three projects, 700.3, 700.4, and 700.5, it is important that you know the purpose and goals of the projects.

Texas Teachers and all educator preparation programs are required to provide evidence that you can meet the standards for a professional educator. Projects 700.3, 700.4 and 700.5 meet the requirements from:

Standard 1: Instructional Planning and Delivery. Teachers demonstrate their understanding of instructional planning and delivery by providing standards-based, data-driven, differentiated instruction that engages students, makes appropriate use of technology, and makes learning relevant for today’s learners.

Standard 3: Content Knowledge and Expertise. Teachers exhibit a comprehensive understanding of their content, discipline, and related pedagogy as demonstrated through the quality of the design and execution of lessons and their ability to match objectives and activities to relevant state standards.

The projects are not like the lesson plans you submit at a school. These are projects, designed to see if you know the technical elements of lesson planning. The projects are designed to evaluate your knowledge and skills in lesson planning. The three projects are comprehensive, but each project scores a different aspect of the lesson plan. Please allow 3 – 5 business days for scoring.

700.3 (this project) evaluates your knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • Using the state standard to write learning objectives
  • Aligning the rigor of the state standard to the rigor of the learning objective
  • Developing a performance measure that is aligned to the state standard and is included in the learning objective
  • Recognizing the basic elements of lesson planning

For 700.3, you will write three complete lesson plans and submit each one for evaluation and feedback. You will find the TEKS by subject area here (Links to an external site.).

Please use the following format for submission of your plans. This is not a traditional lesson plan format but is designed to walk you through the process of what will be evaluated. Additionally, you may download the rubric here to understand the expectations of the project. You must score at least 32 out of 40 points on each lesson plan to be successful. You may submit each plan until you reach the passing score, or until you have reached four re-submissions. The following exemplar lesson plan may also be useful for you.

The following 30 minute video will explain the basic elements of what is required in this project to be successful. Please watch the video to understand exactly how your plans will be scored.

Creating Effective Goals

**I will provide information on past employment and personal goals when tutor is selected.

The simple act of setting goals for employees functions to increase their motivation (goal-setting theory). Goal-setting theory is generally accepted as the most valid and useful motivation theory in industrial/organizational (I/O) psychology, human resources management (HRM), and organizational behavior (OB). However, goals must be designed well to be most effective.

Using what you have learned in this module, augmented by research on goal-setting, respond to the following:

  • Briefly describe your current or a past professional position and provide essential information about the organization—what is the industry, and what do they do?
  • Indicate if the organization uses a goal-setting approach/process. Respond to the following:
    • If yes, what levels of the organization are involved? Briefly describe the process.
    • If no, do you believe a goal-setting approach would help? What levels of the organization do you think should be involved and why?
  • Analyze or create your personal goals.
  • If you have goals, critique them on the following areas:
    • Are they effective or ineffective?
    • What is good or bad about the goals and the associated process?
    • What might be done differently? Why would the change be an improvement?
  • If you do not have goals, create four goals for yourself keeping in mind that the goals should be position specific and cover a short time span (for example, three months). Also, describe:
    • How will the goals benefit you?
    • How will your goals benefit the organization?

Assignment 5: Organizational Change and Personal Leadership Development Plan

problems and gain the trust of project team members. Provide three (3)
specific examples to support the response.
  4. Analyze three (3) actions that Judy Stokley took in order to change
the project team’s culture and create a relationship of trust, mutual
support, and teamwork between the government and contractors. Support
the response with three (3) specific corresponding examples.
  5. Create a personal leadership development plan for Judy Stokley so
that she may be eligible for future promotions to leadership roles
beyond program director. The plan should, at a minimum, focus on
promoting key leadership behaviors, designate specific strategies to

specify actions that Judy could take to promote the AMRAAM culture in
    her new role.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

Case Study: Michael Dell

Case Study: Michael Dell—The Man Behind Dell Presentation (Change Management)

Michael Dell began building and selling computers from his dorm room at age 19. He dropped out of the University of Texas when his sales hit $60 million and has never looked back. Dell is said to be the fifteenth richest man in America, and the youngest CEO to make the Fortune 500. Intensely private and notoriously shy, Dell is hailed as a corporate wonder-kid. He climbed to the top by exploiting tax loopholes, outsourcing the competition, and inventing a term called “leveraged recapitalization.”

First, review the following case study:

Then, address the following tasks:

  • Analyze Dell’s philosophy as it relates to the role of change in organizational success.
  • Determine how Dell’s philosophy would be perceived in a low performing culture.
  • Identify which performing culture best suits your philosophy regarding change management and provide your rationale.
  • Consider the way Dell started his company; determine what market conditions made the business possible.
  • Discuss Dell’s approach to building his brand.

Develop a 4–6-slide presentation in PowerPoint format, utilizing at least two scholarly sources to complete your research, ensuring you cite references within the text and at the end in a reference list. Apply APA standards to the citation of sources. Use the following file naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_M2_A2.ppt.

Make sure you write in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship through accurate representation and attribution of sources; and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

SCRIPT WRITING MAX 200 WORDS, Excellent English. Read and understand before writing

Hello,

So below is the only guideline we have received from our professor. But it is just a small 5 minute script that I need written to do with a partner. I will attach a pic of the scenario we are doing. It is based on a counseling technique called ‘Motivational Interviewing’. Again this teacher is very vague but I will send what notes I have regarding the MI techniques however most our research from this class is mostly practical or google researched ourselves.

Here is note form professor:

Regarding the in-class clinical skills presentations, the general expectations are as follows:

-script should be approx. 6 minutes long for EACH technique (MI and SQ)

-each pair of students is to play the role of the client and facilitator for one of the techniques. In other words, the client/facilitator roles are reversed for each script

-you will receive a topic during class. For the Monday class, students will receive their topics this Monday, October 15, 2018 (so please do your best to attend this class, as we also have to confirm presentation partners)

-once you receive your topic, you and your partner will develop scripts (similar to what we have viewed within the classes). Your scripts are yours to develop in whichever fashion you wish. However, I am looking for insightful scripting rather than exactly mimicking what we have reviewed in class, so please try to be somewhat unique in your stories/responses

-please ensure that you provide one hard copy of each script on the presentations days

-at some point within the next few weeks, I will draw names to inform you the order in which you will be presenting. However, the goal is for EVERYONE to present on the MI method during week 12 and EVERYONE to present on the SQ method on Week 13.

As is with all of the in-class exercises, the intention of these presentation is to learn within a teaching and peer setting. Please remember to be mindful of others when presentations are being conducted, as this should be a fun and insightful activity overall.

NOTE

You can Google motivational interviewing techniques if you need.

I just need small script to read that shows we understand the Motivating Interviewing technique

Scenario:

LAWYER

ADDICTED TO COCAINE

LOSING BUSINESS AND REPUTATION DUE TO ADDICTIVE BEHAVIOR

So i need a scenario with a lawyer…and counselor..having a session using the motivational interviewing technique…. only needs to last 5 minutes.

is this a good explanation or do you need more info. Let me know 🙂
