When confronted with a process or practice that impedes your ability to help a victim, how would you respond? You could go around the practice or process. You could let a bad practice or process keep you from serving citizens in the best possible way. Or you could propose a better process that combines your experience with theories that support your idea. Examples of processes or practices could include interview techniques that are sensitive to victim trauma or making an effort to improve response times in key areas. In this Assignment, you propose a process or practice change that is supported by a victimization theory.

To prepare:

Find a criminal case that aligns with at least one of the perspectives in the following theories:

• Routine activity
• Deviant place
• Lifestyle
• Victim participation

As a way to address the crime that occurred in the criminal case you found, write a proposal for a new or changed process or practice that is based on a victimization theory.

Part I (250–500 words)

• Explain how the applicable theory or theories could apply to the case you found.

Part II (500–750 words)

• Choose one theory of focus that applies to the case.
• Identify an existing process or practice that would benefit from a change.
  • For the purpose of this assignment, consider a process or practice to be an action that can be taken at the day-to-day level, such as employing certain interview techniques, increasing patrols, improving response times, etc.
• Explain why that change would be beneficial.
• Propose the following to address the circumstances in your chosen case:
  • A theory-based process or practice change that could help prevent another occurrence of the crime.
  • A theory-based process or practice change that could improve outcomes for the victim.
• Explain how this type of change could create positive social change.

Customer Strategy

Develop a customer strategy that could be used in the selling process for a product, service, or product solution in a business-to-business (B2B) scenario. You will be selling to an organization rather than an individual customer. Your task in this assessment is to choose a selling strategy that best aligns with the customer’s buying process. The strategy should reflect the various factors that can enhance relationships, such as self-image, success measures, and desire to achieve a win-win situation. This strategy should also mirror the sales professional’s character and professional integrity and promote high ethical standards. When appropriate, the relationship strategy should contribute to a solid, long-term connection.

Preparation

Choose a product. Decide whether you will explore a
product, service, or product solution. This maybe something you have
sold, plan to sell, or would be interested in selling. You may choose a
product you have discussed in previous assessments or use something
different.

Choose a target organization. Select a single
organization that you would approach regarding the product you have
chosen (for example, Al’s Pet Emporium, Potawatomi Casino, Redwood
Conservation Group).

Deliverable

Begin by identifying the product, service, or product solution that
you would sell, and name the target organization you are focusing on.
Then provide the following:

1. Analyze the characteristics of a selected organization to drive a
   customer strategy. Review any available profiles or descriptions of the
   organization you have chosen. Reflect on the role(s) of various
   stakeholders involved in the decision.
2. Analyze the purchasing motives of your target organization,
   according to what you know about this type of organization. What would
   be the rationale for the purchase, and what need would the product
   fulfill? Where possible, build connections between these motives and
   your product.
3. Analyze potential opportunities for maximizing software tools in
   creating and executing a customer strategy. What customer relationship
   management (CRM) software would you use, and how would you take full
   advantage of what it offers? Provide specific ideas about how this
   technology could be effective. Also, what are some potential
   difficulties that might occur in using this particular CRM?
4. Develop a sales approach that is likely to succeed with this target
   organization. Keep in mind this should not be the pitch itself but
   instead should describe how you would go about making it. As always,
   support your recommendation with a reference to best professional
   practices such as those you have studied in this course or elsewhere.
   Also, how might you modify the approach if the sale is not going as
   planned?

At this point in the course you have had an opportunity to study

how assessment can be used to inform decision-making in the workplace.

You have evaluated different types of assessments, you have analyzed

different assessment applications, and you have examined different

assessment instruments and their use in the workplace. What are your

personal perspectives about assessment when used to inform

decision-making in the workplace? What applications of assessment seem

fair, moral and ethical to you? Explain your answer, referencing course

readings and other academic sources to provide support for your

perspectives.

Your initial post should be at least 300 words.

Select an elected state or federal official (legislator) and examine
this legislator’s position on a current health care bill of your choice.
Following the assignment guidelines below, develop an interview paper
as if you were going to interview the legislator. Please note: A current
health bill is a bill that is actively going through the legislative
process and has not become law yet.

Your mock interview paper should include:

• A description of the legislator’s background and history of political involvement
• A detailed summary of the legislator’s current political
  involvement, constituent groups, number of terms in office, committee
  responsibilities, and other leadership experiences
• A description of the legislator’s current policy agenda or judicial interest
• 3–4 key interview questions that relate to the health care bill (legislation) you have chosen
• Mock answers to your interview questions. Investigate the answers
  to your interview questions by looking at the legislator’s website,
  calling the legislator’s office and speaking with a member of the staff,
  and/or looking for information and quotes that relate to the
  legislator’s position on the legislation
• Critical insights, analysis, and personal reflection
• APA format (6th ed.), proper grammar, and references as appropriate

The mock interview paper should be at least 3–4 pages of content
(excluding the title and reference pages), typed in Times New Roman
using 12-point font, and double-spaced with 1″ margins. The cover page
and references are not counted as content pages.
