Social Justice, Government, Sentencing, Policies, and Theories

You will need to reference at least three scholarly or credible sources in addition to the Otu (2021) text and the Peters (2021) text in your assignment. Prior to beginning work on this assignment, please review the following:

Consider exploring the Policies for Courts, Social Justice, Government Interests, and TheoriesLinks to an external site. interactive as it contains additional resources that may assist with this assignment.

This assignment places you in a hypothetical scenario in which you (as a policy analyst) have been requested to evaluate policies for courts and to consider social justice. Review the discussion by Peters (2021) on procedural policy instruments and inform your presentation with findings from research.

Software and Context:

As with the assignment in Week 2, for this assignment, you will prepare a slide presentation using the software and options, along with the links and instructions included below. The context for your presentation is discussed in the scenario in the interactive for Week 3, where your work as a policy analyst has been requested to address courts, policies, theories, and social justice. Attendees for your presentation include members of the state legislature, district attorneys, defense attorneys, judges, magistrates, interest groups, and members of the public. In your presentation, you will focus on the functions of courts, differences between criminal justice and juvenile justice, theories in criminal justice applicable to the judiciary, theories in policymaking, legislation on sentencing, and social justice.

Presentation and Accessibility:

Please include a verbal (audio) narration for your slide presentation. Please let your instructor know if you are unable to complete the audio component of this assignment. Prior to recording, prepare a script for the verbal (audio) material in your slide presentation. Your script should include the spoken words in your presentation to support accessibility. Each slide should have a script attached to it (the script for an individual slide may be placed in the Notes section for that slide). The script should not be placed directly on the slide, but instead, the slide should include a content structure that is consistent with the University of Arizona Global Campus Writing Center’s guidance on PowerPoint presentations.

Content and Social Justice and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:
