You are asked to curate a show on Contemporary Art and can select any 10 pieces of art from your culture/community. (It’s a group assignment, so I need 2 pieces about two different artists that I selected.) We have been examining the framework with which modern and contemporary art is discussed. Your exhibition must also include a theme. It can relate to the themes we have covered but should not be exactly the same. (We covered Gardner’s Art through the Ages: Modern Europe and America.) Be creative in thinking about a theme and how it may relate to the artworks you selected. You can select architecture, art works on view at galleries and exhibitions, art that you find in public spaces including self sanctioned street art.
Come up with a theme (thesis) and title for your exhibition and discuss 10 works of art fin relation to how they relate to what you have learned in this course. You might pick one example from the textbook for each work you select to compare it to. You will be graded on your Thesis and Title, your choice of examples, how well you evidence your examples as relating to the theme and the course. You will also be graded on how well you cover the material for the whole course. You can not cover everything, but make sure not to focus too narrowly on just a few sections within chapters. ( We covered chapter 27-31)

Intro: Art has been a form of expressing different styles and perspective in our day to day lives. It has helped us understand history and understand a person. These mediums of art range from cave art to digital art. One thing theme that is seen throughout art is the beauty in our everyday life. This art is display by artist painting images on walls, artist drawing the beauty of oneself, artist who capturing a moment in time. These were ways in which artist displayed the overlooked parts in our life.Throughout this course we witness works by artist who displayed these types of themes. Art has served as a tool to recreate and display our everyday lives. In this collections of artworks, it demonstrates artist highlighting the overlooked aspects in day to day life.
