breaking down movements

For this individual project you will choose a movement to analyze and then

write a report or develop a power point presentation dissecting and demonstrating live the movement

For the movement, you will break it down into the different phases to analyze. For example,

during a golf swing you could break it down into 4 phases: gripping the club, the back swing, the

down swing, and the follow through. Once you have identified the different phases of the

movement, you will discuss what is happening to the body’s joints (shoulder flexion, elbow

extension, trunk rotation, hip flexion, knee flexion, wrist and finger flexion, etc) during each

phase and identify which muscles are the agonists to allow those motions to occur and if they are

concentric or eccentric. This is to be done for each phase of the movement!

Be creative and provide a couple pictures of the movement in your report to visually aid the

Reader. Be sure to discuss any movement pathologies noted in the analysis. Lastly, indicate how these pathologies may be corrected. Turn in both the template and paper/powerpoint.

5-7 pages or 18-20 slides.
