Unintended Behavior Change (6)

I have to answer 2 questions separately; each question needs to be at least 350 words.

Question #1

Provide an example of two different behavior change tactics (e.g., positive reinforcement, non-contingent reinforcement, negative punishment, etc.) where an unwanted behavior change might occur as a result of your treatment intervention.

Using behavior analytic terms, discuss the specific tactic that was used, the target behavior, and the unwanted behavior change.

How could you have planned for this differently?

Any ethical considerations to go along with each method of change which you described?

Question #2

Select a scholarly peer-reviewed research article where a behavior analytic procedure for change was used and an unintended behavior change occurred.

Did behavioral contrast effects occur in this study?

What could you have done differently to plan for any unwanted effects ahead of time?

Would you recommend a different behavior change tactic, and if so, which ones? Why?

Are there any ethical or practical considerations, which may be of issue in this study?

Most of these track records need to maintain information about the students, instructor loads, and room utilizations. This information could be the general details like student name, address, performance, attendance etc or specific information related to departments like collection of data. For example, when a student needs his transcript, it needs to check many details about the student like name, student ID, year of study, list of courses with grade earned, number of transfer credits, and cumulative and overall GPA. Administrators using the system will find that the process of recording and retrieving students’/faculty information and managing their classes, including marking of attendance, is now a breeze. In general, this project aims to enhance efficiency and at the same time maintain information accurateness. Later in this report, features and improvement that allow achievement to this goal will be demonstrated and highlighted. Our work is useful for easy user interface. We are planning to utilize the powerful database management, data retrieval and data manipulation. We will provide more ease for managing the data than manually maintaining in the documents. Our work is useful for saving valuable time and reduces the huge paper work. Must be done on oracle express, provide the sql statements on a separate document, and an erd diagram.

Cultural Considerations (five page paper) – Children and Violence

Assignment 1: LASA 2: Cultural Considerations

As a mental health worker in a large city, you have been asked to work with refugee children who have been relocated from central Nigeria to live with foster families in your city. The children are between the ages of 9 and 13, boys and girls. They were rescued from a refugee camp in Nigeria where conditions were very poor. People were cramped and slept in rudimentary shelters. Food was scarce, and disease was rampant. Prior to arriving in the camp, the children were exposed to brutal violence. They saw their families murdered, houses burned, and witnessed or experienced sexual assault. Some were also injured in the attacks on their villages.

Utilize the Culturegrams database in the Argosy Online library, the Ethics and Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct (2010), and your readings to write a paper addressing the following:

  • Describe the psychological effects of violence that the children from Nigeria might be experiencing? Be sure to consider issues such as gender and age.
  • Design an intervention program to address the children’s exposure to violence. Remember to consider individual, family, and community needs.
  • Describe the elements you would incorporate into a prevention program designed to foster resilience in the children from Nigeria, as well as break the cycle of violence that we learned can occur for children exposed to violence. You may research existing programs that utilize best practices as we have learned in this course, or design your own program.
  • Reflect on the debate between “cultural universality” and “cultural specificity”. How would you reconcile this debate within the context of the ethics code for psychologists?
  • Discuss why it is important to take into consideration cultural traditions when designing an intervention program. Describe at least two specific Nigerian cultural traditions and how you would use this knowledge in designing your intervention program.
  • Briefly describe at least 2 ethical considerations that one would need to take into account when intervening with children as victims of violence in general, as well as pertaining to cultural issues specifically

ormat your paper in APA style, using research gathered from the sources above (i.e., module readings, Culturegrams, and the ethics code) to support your response. Your paper should be between 4 and 5 pages in length and include a cover page, abstract, and reference list.
