Chicano Park

In their article, “Just Art for a Just City,” Sharp, Pollock & Paddison consider the complex and multiple roles that public art can play in processes of urban restructuring or change. Use this week’s discussion entry to:

1. reflect on various ways that you think the murals in the park and other art in the surrounding area have directly or indirectly contributed to shaping the neighborhood.

2. describe what you might propose in terms of additional neighborhood improvement(s) or public amenities that could build on the strengths of what those who created the park have done.
