You are going to open this case and need to explain to the client the limits of confidentiality and Tarasoff law.

  • Discuss the limits of confidentiality and Tarasoff law with this client and why they are important.
  • How will you present this information to the client? Explain one way you would approach each of these legal issues.
  • If he is unable to get his aggression under control, what might be your course of action?
  • Identify one ethical issue in this case. Explain one way you would approach the ethical issue.

Part 2

You are a volunteer at a counseling center, and your mentor has asked you to assist in leading a session of a psycho-educational group on a disorder of your choice.

Address the following:

  • Identify a disorder that is usually diagnosed first in childhood/adolescence, and provide a thorough explanation of the characteristics of the disorder.
  • Research the disorder using your textbook, Web resources, and other professional literature to explain (in detail) complexities in identifying the disorder.
  • You will need to write a realistic case (you should create the details) to use as an example in explaining all aspects of the disorder.

You should cite sources using APA format, and include a reference section at the end of your submission.
