In this regard, the use of standardized assessment methods for the dominant group on ethnic minorities excludes the linguistic and normative elements that are essential for accurate determination of their condition. An additional form of prejudice that is exhibited by practitioners during their interactions with culturally diverse client is the overdependence methods that are based on Western assumptions and theories that are either irrelevant to the condition of the patient or unsuitable due to non-recognition for major factors that could influence the efficacy of the method.
