•    Describe the issues or cause(s) at the root of the conflict.   •    Identify the ‘positions’ adopted by each of the parties in relation to the issues •    Can you identify the ‘Interests’ that each party was seeking to defend (can they be separated out from the ‘positions’ adopted)? •    What ‘sources of power’ could/did each of the parties draw upon in the conflict? Who held the ‘balance of power’ and why? •    What strategies/tactics/behaviours were adopted by each party to the conflict in an attempt to protect their interests?   •    By what means was the conflict eventually resolved (if, indeed, it was!)?  What was the outcome?  Whose interests were served by the eventual outcome? Were there winners and losers? •    What were the lasting effects (positive and/or negative) of the conflict? •      Finally, can you identify any ways in which this conflict might have been handled differently, that might have produced a more positive outcome?
