diary of a madman

Write two introductory paragraphs on “Diary of a Madman”

Your task, when it is your turn to write, is to imagine you are writing a 6 page conference paper on the reading for that day. So if you are writing on Things Fall Apart chap 14-19, pretend you are writing a conference paper on those chapters. HOWEVER I ONLY WANT YOU TO WRITE THE FIRST TWO GRAPHS–NOT THE WHOLE PAPER. We’re learning to write a paper in baby steps, so let’s just focus on the first two graphs for now.

Everyone else will critique your graphs, just like I do in my feedback.

I want your graphs to accomplish the following goals:

  1. First graph:
    1. Explain a problem being discussed in WHUM (canon vs non-canon, formal vs historical criticism, or something else–you are the author, you pick!)
    2. Explain a gap in this research
    3. Use some kind of Gaipa strategy
    4. Propose a question that helps fill the gap
    5. Provide your answer to the question
  2. Second graph:
    1. Reintroduce the research question
    2. Explain what specific thing you are looking at to answer the question
    3. Explain why that thing you are looking at (in this case the chapters you are assigned) helps answer the question
    4. Use some kind of Gaipa strategy

I know this seems very restrictive, but we are taking baby steps and you’ll grow more freedom as you learn. Right now I want you to think about this stuff and I want the feedback givers to really focus on it.
