diary of a madman
Write two introductory paragraphs on “Diary of a Madmanâ€
Your task, when it is your turn to write, is to imagine you are writing a 6 page conference paper on the reading for that day. So if you are writing on Things Fall Apart chap 14-19, pretend you are writing a conference paper on those chapters. HOWEVER I ONLY WANT YOU TO WRITE THE FIRST TWO GRAPHS–NOT THE WHOLE PAPER. We’re learning to write a paper in baby steps, so let’s just focus on the first two graphs for now.
Everyone else will critique your graphs, just like I do in my feedback.
I want your graphs to accomplish the following goals:
- First graph:
- Explain a problem being discussed in WHUM (canon vs non-canon, formal vs historical criticism, or something else–you are the author, you pick!)
- Explain a gap in this research
- Use some kind of Gaipa strategy
- Propose a question that helps fill the gap
- Provide your answer to the question
- Second graph:
- Reintroduce the research question
- Explain what specific thing you are looking at to answer the question
- Explain why that thing you are looking at (in this case the chapters you are assigned) helps answer the question
- Use some kind of Gaipa strategy
I know this seems very restrictive, but we are taking baby steps and you’ll grow more freedom as you learn. Right now I want you to think about this stuff and I want the feedback givers to really focus on it.
