Course description — journalism

If you successfully complete this course – the journalistic equivalent of boot camp – you should be able to handle yourself in an entry-level job at a newspaper, magazine, radio or television station. We will do plenty of reading and nearly as much writing. You will learn how to research, develop and write just about any kind of story, how to cover a beat (such as city hall, cops and courts), how to use public records, how to write a query letter to a publisher and – most importantly – HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR WRITING SKILLS.
