  2. Think about the following question: How did making an outline prepare you to begin drafting the presentation? Discuss your answer with your partner.

  3. Review the process of writing a clear and concise thesis statement, the importance of keeping track of sources, and appropriate citation information, including MLA Style for Listing Sources. Go to pp. lxxv–lxxxvi and pp. lxxxii–lxxxiii in Literature if you need a refresher on this information.

  4. Review principles of graphic design and evaluate whether you followed them. Use the following list:

  • Avoid using more than two types of fonts in a single publication.
  • Never use all capital letters for text other than possibly a title or heading.
  • Add images and/or graphic art to add visual appeal and draw the audience’s attention.
  • Make sure images are not stretched or distorted to fit a space.
  • Avoid colors that are too similar to black or too light to read.
  • Develop a color scheme, and stay consistent with the colors that you use.
  • Use color to aid in organization by giving emphasis to specific areas of a design.
  • Use horizontal and vertical lines to help break up content within the publication.
  • Review your rough draft presentation to make sure it is complete. Use the Research Presentation rubric as a guide, and show your partner the following in your rough draft presentation:

    • introduction and conclusion
    • main point with supporting details
