environmental justice and health

I would like all of you to do some research, and find an environmental health topic that is important to you. After researching the topic, you will now create a mock public hearing speech that you will present to your readers. You will be taking on the role of an environmental justice advocate. You may take on a role if you like, or you can also present this speech as yourself. However you approach this topic, I want it to be passionate, and creative, but also concise. Make sure that your core argument will also highlight the importance to health equity.

Here are some specifics (other than the requirements of rubric) I will be looking for in your speech.

1. Clearly presenting the environmental health issue; what is it? who does it impact? why is it important?

2. Arguments are clearly supported by evidence.

3. Promotes environmental justice through community engagement (we will discuss this in class)

4. What is the change you’re looking for?

Make sure to utilize all resources, including our previous class discussions.
