Next, browse through the site. In a paper, address the topics listed in the attachment below.  Remember to save all of  your work as each week builds on the previous week’s work to establish a  complete understanding on the website critique process. No need for you  to restate the previous week’s work in what you are submitting.  Pick  up from where you left off.

The paper should include: A review of how the website addresses the topics outlined in the Website Critique assignment link; Your opinion of how well the website handles the topic areas; and Insight on how the website could be improved in the topic areas. *Explain how you will apply or address these issues in your own layout.

Week 2

After listening to this week’s lecture, continue critiquing the B2C e-retail web store that you chose last week. ave all of your work as each week builds on the previous week’s work to establish a complete understanding on the web store critique process.  Utilize the PowerPoint lecture to assist you with the topics.

The paper should include: a review of how the web store addresses the topics outlined; your opinion of how well the web store handles the topic areas; and insight on how the web store could beimproved in the topic areas. Site Purpose Does the site have a distinct, easily recognizable purpose? (educating users, providing news, corporate image branding, supporting existing customers, gathering information, auction site, banking, government, political, social issue promotion, banking, community site for those with similar interest, club/organization, mall, subscription service, e-commerce, investor relations, distribute products or service literature, customer service, host online courses, search engine, bookstore, Internet provider, etc.) (slide 6) Is that purpose reinforced throughout the site? (slide 6) Does the site prominently feature the company’s unique value position (The reason someone would want to visit the site.) on the home page and primary entry pages. You only have a few seconds to capture a customer/visitor. You need to rapidly tell them why you are different from other similar companies / sites. (slide 6) If the purpose of the site is to make money, what is their business model (sell subscriptions to the site, sell advertising, sell products, etc)? (slide 8) Is it extremely obvious to viewer why they should do, what the company wants them to do? (purchase items, read your site, subscribe, etc.)(slide 5) Organizational Conventions Create an outline of the web store’s organization including the homepage and products pages. (slide 3) Did you find any use of punctuation to substitute for spacing in file names? Do you find their method of file naming easy to read? (slide 2) Business Models There are many ways to attract your customer’s attention. How would you categorize the type of B2C model used by the web store? Would you say that the model is appropriate to the product type? (slide 8) Does the web store’s business model include advertising? (slide 8) Does the advertising subtract from the shopping experience? (slide 7) Marketing Act as if this data is for your web store site. Which browsers and computers do you think you should have around in order to do compatibility testing?  What search engines and search words are used the most?  How does this affect your marketing plans?
