This is the first paper…The purpose of this discussion is to evaluate and discuss strategies for dealing with ethical dilemmas.

Choose an ethical issue or moral dilemma from the Hispanic community.

  • What strategy would best serve the family and provide resolution? Why?
  • What strategy might be the least fitting for the family? Why?

  • Reflecting on the concepts of biculturalism and adaptation, educational deficiencies, language barriers, and dual language learners, answer the following questions:
    • What do you believe are the primary protective factors used by Latino families to combat negative outcomes (such as substance abuse acculturation and mental illnesses)? Why do you believe this?

      • Does cultural awareness play a significant part in screening Hispanic clients? If so, to what degree. If not, why?
