Reflect: Reflect back on the Week Two Discussion in which you shared with the class the global societal issue that you would like to further address. Explore critical insights that were shared by your peers and/or your instructor on the topic chosen and begin your search for scholarly sources with those insights in mind.
Write: For this assignment, review the Annotated Bibliography Formatting Guidelines and address the following prompts:

- Thesis statement: Write a direct and concise thesis statement, which will become the solution to the problem that you will argue or prove in the Week Five Final Argumentative Essay. A thesis statement should be a declarative statement that makes one point in 25 words or less. The thesis statement must appear at the end of the introductory paragraph.
- Annotated Bibliography: Develop an annotated bibliography to indicate the quality of the sources you have read. Your annotation should be one to two paragraphs long (150 words or more) and fully address the purpose, content, evidence, and relation to other sources you found on this topic. Methods used in identifying and selecting topic
In narrowing down my topic, I chose a general area of interest, after which I found a way of looking at the problem from a single aspect. Specifically, the roles airports can play in fighting terrorism
Ways to critically analyze sources to determine if they are scholarly and credible
To determine if a source is scholarly and credible, it is important to determine where the source was published. Ideally, a credible source should be published by a publication that has the necessary expertise such as a peer-reviewed journal, University press and professional societies. These sources are reliable. The author of the article can also have some bearing, an author is more reliable if he or she has a certain level of influence in the field. One can also determine influence by the number of time the article has been cited. The time the article was written is also relevant. It is important to ensure that the information is not outdated and is still relevant (Lecheler & Kruikemeier, 2016)
Information from peer-reviewed articles
Evidence from recent years suggests that attacks on airports are likely to increase. As a result, it is important to come up with strategies that will help the country to be able to secure the airports better. Airports have in the past been used as both targets and means of facilitating attacks. They are ideal targets due to public accessibility, anyone can use them. In 2016, attacks in airports in Brussels and Istanbul have brought a discussion as to whether enough is being done to secure airports (Duchesneau & Langlois 2017).
Why Scholarly sources should be used
This is a very sensitive topic and all the information reported on it should be credible and of substance. These kinds of the topics are often overhyped by news reports, bloggers and other online sources. At times there is no objectivity, scholarly sources, however, give a balanced account of events as well as gives accurate information since all the information contained in these publications has to be verified. These sources are therefore reliable. Any kind of research done on this issue may also be applied in one way or another, as a result, the information should not be misleading.
