Journalism: Ted Conover Discussion Questions

Participatory reporting or immersion journalism have been around for centuries. Modern literary journalism has embraced it as well. One of the most prominent writers using this particular style is Ted Conover, who is present in both our textbooks and in this module as well.

In this module we learn about participatory reporting and reporting across cultures (sometimes you find diverse cultures in your neighborhood). Our selected author is Ted Conover. After doing the readings in the textbook and in Module 10, explain the following:

  • What catches your attention on Conover’s excerpt of Coyotes that matches his definition of immersion?
  • What ethical dilemma (s), if any, you sense the author faced in Coyotes?
  • Please follow the discussion board rules regarding length, word count, creative title, etc.

Length: 300-350+ words. Add a creative title
