Drawing on lectures, tutorials, assigned readings and additional research, you will critically investigate a specific debate about consumer culture. In this 2000 (+/- 10%)word assignment, you will demonstrate your understanding of the various ‘sides’ to this debate, as well as the historical contexts from which these perspectives emerge.
This assignment expects you to draw on unit content from weeks one to six, inclusive, as well as independent research using books, scholarly and trade journals and the internet. You will also draw on examples from popular culture / media to support your argument.
Examples of essays from previous years will be available in your class notebook. These will also be discussed in tutorials.
