Leadership Interview
Select a leader (Your area of specialization: mine is Teaching and Learning Gr 4-8) who exemplifies collaborative leadership. Interview the leader for tips he or she has learned regarding collaborative leadership. Prepare a three to four page report in APA format in which you provide feedback on the interview and reflect upon what you learned that will help you become a stronger instructional leader.
You may start with the following questions:
- What are ways you promote collaboration among those you lead?
- How do you involve parents in promoting collaborative learning?
- What is the role of the site-based decision-making committee on your campus?
- How important is communication in the collaborative process?
- What are some challenges you have faced with a collaborative style? Have you moved away from collaboration in some situations?
- What advice would you give to new instructional leaders regarding the importance of effective communication and collaboration?
- Does your faith influence the way you lead?
Add questions on specific areas of interest to you.
