HINT: Does it connect to the clergymen’s statement? Does it illustrate a rhetorical strategy? Does it connect to another author–like Carter or Raymo or Spence?
- Introduce the quote by explaining in your own words what it is about and the context in which it appears (use complete sentences);
- Type out the entire quote (use quotation marks and provide a page #);
- Explain how and why you think the quote is important—How is it connected to the author’s argument? to other authors? to you? to society? Explain! Write at least a paragraph for part 3.
