Consider these special usages of language: sarcasm, lies, metaphor, puns, and exaggeration. Discuss two of these in terms of speaker meaning and sentence meaning. What role (if any) does the distinction between speaker meaning and sentence meaning play in these cases? For one of the two you choose to discuss, give a specific example of a real or hypothetical situation that illustrates it.
