This was a great math refresher course. There were some really
simple concepts that I haven’t seen or practiced in a while. It was
nice to get some practice with those before seeing them in the classroom
and having to teach them to young students. I’ve always enjoyed math,
and although there was some challenging content to learn and relearn,
overall I had a positive experience. I also really liked the Virtual
Manipulative website. It was very beneficial to become familiar with
these resources that are available to use in our classroom once we
graduate and begin our elementary teaching careers. The only thing I
would add into this course, or that I thought would be included in this
course was techniques for teaching math to elementary students. Those
techniques, along with the review of CCSS for Mathematics, and the
Virtual Manipulative discussions would have me feeling more prepared to
teach mathematics then just the last two alone.
