Middle Childhood Article Analysis
(JUST DO THE FIRST ARTICLE FOR MIDDLE CHILDHOOD)
Students will analyze two articles from popular press sources (magazines, newspapers, etc., NOT a scholarly journal article) that relate to development/issues in middle childhood (first article) and adolescence (second article). This article should just be a common interest story about the age groups; NOT a summary of development. For example, the article could be about the increase in cell phone usage, the opening of a new club that allows people under twenty-one to enter, or the bust of a sex-traffic ring that included under-age sex workers. Students will submit the article with their analysis; NOT a link to the article. Each analysis should consist of 1) a summary of the article, 2) a summary of the course content that relates to the article, 3) your opinion about the topic and issue as it relates to children’s development.
