The paper is due on April 28th at midnight. Below you will find the rubric (it is also in CONTENTS).
Museum Analysis Paper
3 full pages (not 2 ½), MLA citation
Students must visit a museum that has content associated with US History from 1877-present. Please do not write a paper on pre-1877 histories such as the Civil War or Revolutionary War. The Ships of the Sea Museum, Prohibition Museum, Mighty 8th Air Force Museum, and any Civil Rights museums are all good museums to visit. The Telfair Museum (as it is mostly an art museum) is not a good museum to visit for this paper.
Late papers will be penalized one letter grade for each day tardy. Your dropbox contains Turnitin software. You will see your plagiarism score. Your score should not be higher than 20%. If your score is higher than 20% you will be penalized. If you see you have a high score, the software allows for you to edit your paper and turn it in again. This is not supposed to be a hard assignment. I simply want you to go to a museum and write a 3 page double spaced paper. Please do not copy and paste from the internet. Plagiarism is the easiest way to fail this class… so please don’t cheat.
The 1st page should consist of an analysis of the museum itself. What is in the museum? What did you like about the museum? What didn’t you like? Was the staff/website helpful? What did you think of the exhibits, etc?
Pages 2 and 3 should be a report on one of the exhibits. You should take notes about a specific exhibit while you are at the museum. You may also need to do extra research on the subject matter that the exhibit pertains to.
Please make sure your papers are grammatically correct. Papers with multiple spelling and grammar mistakes will receive low grades. 5 or more grammatical/spelling mistakes on one page will lead to a grade of a 60.
