- Follow directions to complete the game including: mapping sites from interview notes, taking samples and talking to staff at the health department and at the park site.
- Play the game through to the end when the cause is discovered and steps are taken to prevent another outbreak. It should take about 30 minutes to complete the game. (1 point)
- Describe what the cause of the outbreak was and how it could be prevented in the future. (2 points)
- Describe the role of the public health nurse in investigating this outbreak. (2 points)
- List a minimum of 5 steps involved in the communicable disease investigation. Explain how these are demonstrated in “Outbreak at Watersedge” (3 points)
- Identify how these concepts of Epidemiology could be applied in your future practice as a health care professional. (2 points)
