It’s the beginning of the year at your program and you will write a letter welcoming all families. The purpose of your letter is to build a partnership with families and to demonstrate your knowledge of the importance of connecting learning and resources to the child’s home. Your goal is to help families view you as their advocate.

Write a letter to families that includes:

  1. A brief introduction of yourself and the purpose for your letter.
  2. Your understanding of reasons educators and families might have difficulty connecting and a statement of your role in overcoming these barriers.
  3. A summary of benefits the children will receive as a result of teacher/family partnerships.
  4. A summary of benefits the educator will receive as a result of teacher/family partnerships.
  5. A summary of benefits the family can expect as a result of teacher/family partnerships.
