Hello Class,
Business Dictionary defines regulatory agency as, “Government body formed or mandated under the terms of a legislative act (statute) to ensure compliance with the provisions of the act, and in carrying out its purpose. Also called regulatory authority or regulatory body” (regulatory agency, 2020).
How can the U.S. and state regulatory agency promote business activity? One way is like the government is doing now by offering the stimulus checks to build the economy back up from the effects of the corona virus. Another example here could be a business loan to start up a new business. This is something I am working on right now in my state. I am also looking into grant money to help with expenses. These things would definitely fit into this category.
How can the U.S. and state regulatory agency discourage business activity? This would be the opposite of the promoting businesses. No help in small business loans, no grants for people to use to start a business. Without help people struggle to make it nowadays. High tax rates can also hurt a new and existing business. The list here could go on and on depending on the agency.

Greeting All,
“All government regulations on business require companies to comply with federal, state, and local statues and regulations administered by legislative bodies and carried out by regulatory agencies†(Woods, 2020). There are several ways that various U.S. and state regulatory agencies promote or discourage business activity. The government agencies that were established were done so for the protection of customers. U.S. and state regulatory agencies promote business activity by establishing agencies that allows customers the relief of knowing that they can conduct business without the worry of companies committing fraud against them, and if a company does commit fraud then the company knows that there will be consequences for their actions. . U.S. and state regulatory agencies discourage business activity by holding companies accountable for their actions and ensuring that they are following the established laws. .
