The married couple, Akemi, a Japanese native, and Joseph, a Caucasian American, initiated couples counseling due to reported unresolved issues and feelings regarding their inability to effectively communicate. Joseph works full time, Akemi is a stay at home mom, they have two children. The reports they are expecting their third child in 4 months. Joseph reports Akemi is overly concerned her future prospects for a career with a third child on the way. Akemi reports that Joseph works too much and when is home is too focused on the children. Akemi feels that Joseph does not have her back with disciplining the children.
For this assignment students will analyze the case study above and address the following:
Provide support of what you would do in the early phase and middle phase of therapy using the Structural Family Therapy model.
Discuss and apply, supported with research, interventions, the concepts of joining, accommodating, enactments, and boundary making.
Essay should be in APA citation with at least 2 sources to support ideas (one is the textbook). The essay should be 2 to 4 pages double spaced.
