Section 2: Diversity and Curriculum

Section 3: Week 4: Diversity and Instructional Practices

Section 4: Diversity and Classroom/School Policies and Procedures

Section 5: Texas Students Only: Prepare an oral presentation for the faculty member about your diversity report for Week 6. See details in Section 5.

Note for Texas students: Each part of your diversity report is an artifact that you must compile as part of a comprehensive portfolio. The portfolio can be in any format you choose, as long as it can be submitted at the end of the course.

Section 1: Defining Diversity

Provide a detailed definition of what diversity means to you. Consider general aspects of what diversity entails as well as specific elements of diversity found in educational settings.

Write a 350- to 525-word document for the defining diversity section.

Support your ideas with evidence and information from outside sources.

Submit this in Week 6 as part of your Signature Assignment: Diversity Report.

Note: Texas students must include this as an artifact to submit in a portfolio of their choice at the end of the course.

Section 2: Diversity and Curriculum

Definethe criteria you would use to evaluate diversity within your school’s curriculum.

Evaluatethe curriculum of your school based on your stated criteria.

Presentyour findings in a 700- to 1,050-word document. Suggest best practices that should be implemented to enhance diversity within the school’s curriculum. Base your suggestions on your findings from the evaluation and stakeholder consultation.

Note: Texas students must include this as an artifact to submit in a portfolio of their choice at the end of the course.

Section 3: Diversity and Instructional Practices

Definethe criteria that you would use to evaluate how well your school meaningfully incorporates diversity into its instructional practices.

Evaluatethe instructional methods of your school based on your stated criteria.

Present your findings in a 700- to 1,050-word document. Utilize your findings from the evaluation and stakeholder consultation to suggest best practices that can be implemented to ensure that diversity issues are addressed.
