Project Guidelines

 Copy the form from my website (under ORB), save it as you own file, then type the answers

in.

 Use present tense for the “presence” you choose for your character. Use past tense to refer to

times that have passed.

 You may use key words and phrases when appropriate. Use sentences when indicated.

 If a topic doesn’t apply, you must still fill in the field in the table. Use your creativity to

provide pertinent, alternative information that would count as the “missing element.” For

example, one requirement on the Facebook page includes “political affiliation” of your

character. But political parties, etc. are not mentioned in Romeo and Juliet. However, we

know that the story takes place in the Middle Ages, in Italy; Verona was walled in, and one’s

city was one’s protector. Exile was dangerous. The two families were deadly enemies. So

here’s where your creativity could lead you for your character Romeo: “My politics revolve

around my wife Juliet. I have to make peace with her family, the Capulets, my enemy. Every

day, I work hard on a way out of exile so I can reunite with my love. My daily politics center

around sending messages over to Verona so the Prince can pardon me and so Juliet knows

my plans.

 This is a book project, so not entirely authentic, like a real Facebook profile. So if your

character is 16 at the beginning and has turned 18 by the end, write “16-18” in the “age”

field. You may elaborate: “I’m 16 in 11 th grade, then finally turned 17 last summer – boy, was

that a party! Lasted 2 days!! Now I’m in 12 th grade and have major senioritis. I’m so ready for

college.

 You should include some jargon/acronyms, etc. that’s typical for social media, but make sure

it’s school appropriate. This will help you with authenticity. For example for relationship

status: “It’s complicated. I’ve been dating my neighbor Jack for six months. Sooooo happy.

But now Susie is interested. My BFF. #BestFriendsForever #Not.
