ESSAY TWO Hamilton’s American Audience
The American audience, as defined by your textbook and by me, has diverse and dynamic tastes in what they wish to see onstage.
Below is a link to a brief documentary on the multi-award winning musical Hamilton and its creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.
There is also a concert performance of this musical that the cast performed at The White House where viewers can get the change to truly hear and listen to some of the lyrics and contemplate some of the themes explored in this landmark musical. Some — both theatre artists and audience members alike — think this is one of the most important works of Theatre produced so far in this century. WHY?
To answer that question, you will need to watch the videos but you also need to support your answer with information from the reading. Answer as fully and with as much detail as possible.
