Write a paragraph that could be included in your essay. Your paragraph should focus on one of the primary purposes for using research explained in your text (pg 476-480).
- establish context
- review the literature on a topic
- introduce a term or define a concept
- present technical material
- develop or support a claim
- highlight differences or counter arguments
Review the textbook example for each of the purposes mentioned above before you get started, and include your chosen reason from the list above as the title of your document.
Your paragraph should use at least two sources and show how those sources are related to one another. You can quote, summarize or paraphrase your research materials, but be sure to follow the guidelines for doing it well in Chapter 20. Use signal phrases and introductions to frame your research (p. 474-5), and be sure to cite all research in MLA format both in the text of your paragraph and in a works cited listing included at the end of your document. Your submitted document should also use MLA format (heading, title, header, double spaced, etc.)
Areas of Evaluation
